When I was in DC a few weeks ago visitng my sister, I was rushing to go meet her for lunch and saw an asian kid on rollerblades doing tricks around some cones. I was quickly walking by and then saw a group of people with Iraq War protest signs. I looked down and thought "it's weird this street is closed off and there's this nice cobblestone here." I looked up and realized I was in front of the White House.
It's weird to see things, and then other times actually see them. I mean, you can walk by the couch in your living room thousands of times and never really notice how it looks.
