i teach bad good

let me give you a sense of what kind of teacher i am. today, at work, i taught a bunch of sex offenders, drug addicts, drug dealers, and fire setters how to scare the crap out of someone.
then, i went to teach my class at the college. i told them how proud i was of their growth over the past six weeks, collected their midterm portfolios, then kicked them all out.

this has been such a crappy week. the only bright spot outside of being home was right before my novel writing class when my teacher (my Pushcart winning teacher) said she thought i was a good writer and that with time and effort i would make it in "the field."

i didn't quit my job today, but this week has solidified more than anything else my plans to quit mid-winter.
