I ♥ San Fransisco.
I enjoyed 4 fabulous, fun-filled days of general touristry, and galavanting about, and I have too many things to say about it to even begin to start. But begin I must :)
So much good food, conversation, company, art, arcitecture, and beauty, I couldn't even begin to do it justice.
Someday I will be in possession of pictures, and I will post them, along with descriptions, or brief quips, or inside jokes, or whatever strikes my fancy at that date and time.
It was so amazing to have so much time together with Darius. He and I have never spent that long (6 full days, and only an hour or 2 apart in all of that time, unless you're counting bathroom trips) without work, play, or commitments keeping us away from each other. It's a serious thing, to be able to enjoy another person like that on vacation. A beautiful thing to still be sad at the end, when one of you must drive away.
It was an amazing experience, sharing all of the wonder, beauty, and laughter with each other. We drove from Eugene to Sacramento, where D grew up, on Thursday, (August 31st) and spent the night with his Dad and Leslie (his step-mother) who are lovely people, whose company I enjoy. I "made" him take me around to his old stomping grounds, and he took me to meet his (paternal) grandparents, who were delighted to see him, and seemed like really nice folks. They have a vertible museum of childhood photos of Darius and Cyrena, many of which are not particularly flattering to either of these (now) beautiful people. Yay! I finally found someone who will show me embarassing pictures, and tell me embarassing stories about the man that I love. We also visited with one of his best friends from High-school, Geri (Sp?) who is a really sweet girl with an annoying dog. He actually told her to tell me some embarassing stories, but I don't think he realized what he was in for, and quickly decided that her recollections were a little more embarassing than he had in mind. I'll post those later, on a filter that he can't read. (Just kidding baby!)
Friday afternoon we headed for San Fransisco.
To be continued...
