Yay! It didn't suck!

I had a really fabulous night. The party was everything I wanted it to be, just big enough that everybody got to meet at least a couple of new people, but still small enough that I was able to spend at least a little bit of time with everyone in attendance. More of the snacks were eaten then not, and much alcohol was consumed, though not even half of what was available.
It was really great to see people from all of these different areas of my life getting together and enjoying each other's company. I tried to encourage mingling, which worked to some degree, though I do think that most folks pretty much stuck to chatting up the people they already knew.
Nobody brought music, or if they did they didn't tell me about it, so I left the radio on "the retro-pop reunion, playing the hits from the video music era" which seemed to suit everyone just fine.
There are really a lot of great pictures, which I stupidly insisted that D put on my computer, so that I could upload them to lj, and write cute little things to go along with them, which might have been brilliant if only I knew how to make photoshop auto-resize a large number of pictures, which I don't, so I'll either have to wait until he gets home and does it, or I'll do manually. Either way it'll be a bit.
The first people to arrive got there at 8:30, the last to arrive stumbled in around 3, the first person to leave was D's mom, who bade her adieus around 10:30ish, and the last to leave lurched out (at my stern insistence, and not without a whole hell of a lot of encouragement, and a few unkind drunken words, [his, not mine] some people just shouldn't drink) at a few minutes to 4. (He called to apologize this morning)

Attendees: Aaron, Airie, Alexis, Amber, Angi, Autumn, Carmen, Cody, David, Elizabeth, Janna, Jesse, Lillith, Matthew, Mike, Ruby, Russell, Scott, and Sharna.

Everybody clear your calendars for February 11th, the 25th anniversary of my birth, when D will be throwing me a fabulous surprise Birthday party. (He doesn't know about it yet, which is why it's a surprise)
