Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon

Spent half of today at The Oregon Country Fair , which was a rather good time, actually. Despite the fact that my entire local family works the information booths there every year, I hadn't been in 6 years, and I'd actually intended to camp there with my family this year, but circumstances prevented that from occurring, and then I almost didn't end up going at all, fearing that I might not have the best time at such an event all by my lonesome, but it was one more chance to see Kalinda before she leaves, and besides, I didn't have anything else to do, so I went. I'm tempted to tell the story of my first Fair, which was 10 years ago, and I suspect I will someday, but not today.

So yeah, I went, it was a good time, I wandered around, hung out with all my relatives, and even ran into some people I'm not related to, one of whom I even like! I ate Salmon on a stick, and popcorn you can season yourself, with all the hippie popcorn condiments you could ask for, and drank lemonade. I got a little nostalgic, and almost bought some fudge, but managed to restrain myself. I noticed a large number of girls wearing nothing but paint above the waist, with lovely flowers, and butterflies covering their nipples, and I also saw a lot of paintless breasts, most of which were pierced, which I found interesting, and thought about, as I wandered through the tye-dyed crowds. I also thought about how many vendors there are, how the majority of the Fair is just people selling stuff, and how hippies are always talking about how people shouldn't be so materialistic. Everything I bought there, I consumed there. I didn't purchase a single trinket to commemorate my visit, and I feel good about that, even as fond as I am of trinkets that commemorate things. I left right before it closed, and managed to find my car, without any trouble at all.

On my way home I went to Wal-Mart, and purchased make-up.
