i'm about to sleep the other night
and i started thinking
and i was planning on writing in this, but i was too tired
BUT ANYWAYS
i realized how much work is put into anything. I mean if you think about any job, it's a lot of fucking work.
my parents own a restaurant. my dad works about 14 hours a day.
A cook has to know about a lot of things. Professional chefs rarely go by recipes exactly. A cup is measured by hands or something. But how do they always know how big of a pinch is a teaspoon, or how long to cook something every time? Cooking is also an art. You ahve to design each dish like a canvas. There's so much more to it.
And my mom, she has to remember every name and face that walks into the restaurant, know how to attract customers into things.
Whenever people mention a tough job, do you ever really imagine a chef? Most people imagine lawyers or construction workers.
That's why sometimes I'm so afraid of the future. If I don't know what hobby I'm passionate about, what if I'm stuck with a job in the future thats really hard but I don't love. Violin would be so much harder if I didn't love it. I wouldn't be good at it if I didn't love it.
my mom said i had to do some sou searching this summer...
i guess its going to be a lot harder than i thought.
