Summary: If he didn't leave her alone right the hell now, Johanna was going to puke all over Finnick Odair's ugly suit. What's a girl gotta do to have a minor panic attack in peace around here, anyhow?

Okay, now that I'm in a slightly better mood ...
I'm glad you like my Jo. Since you and S are the only ones who I've really got to know in the fandom at all, you two are the ones whose opinions are going to matter. That you like what I've got in this head of mine makes all the difference.
(I promise to read yours this weekend? I know I keep meaning to read all of your stuff. I've just got to put myself to it. Ask sabaceanbabe; I'm pretty detailed when I comment on things.) So I'll get there. I'm just ridiculously slow.
Yep, I love the idea that Haymitch blames himself for other losses beyond the arena. In some ways, it's completely irrational; but in other ways, the way that I imagine Snow stepped up his paranoia tenfold when Haymitch won, I can see how Haymitch would see himself as a catalyst for all the horrors to come. But then, I could have so much fun going on and on about his mental processes, so ... Let's just say I'm having far too much fun with this.
But anyhow, yep, I promise, the next part will be ready in a few weeks. I'm still filling holes on that one. And then I've got to juice up your birthday part a bit before it gets posted as the third part. It's going to be fun. Whee!
Mostly, just thank you. I needed this.

I've always seen Haymitch as having an overdeveloped sense of responsibility (something he and Katniss share, really--widowed mother, younger sibling, etc.) And I'm sure Snow made certain to help instill some of that paranoia in Haymitch by implying that any wrong move he made would cost other people, to the point where if bad things happen now, he thinks it's somehow on him. (I work with that idea in Nowhere to Stand and Nowhere to Hide.) And if you ever want to kick around or discuss notions of Haymitch's psyche, I'm always more than happy. :D
<3333 Hoping that things look up for you soon, believe me.
