Say, isn't it about time for one of those silly Year End surveys?
I like Christmas. Some people seem to lose the magic of it all, but I still love it all after 27 years of it (I've actually had 28 Christmases in my life, not counting the multiple Christmases I experience per year on account of being a divorce kid). I still make the list and stick it in my stocking by the fireplace, and I think I will continue to do so until my last year.
This year I was given something that has been on my list for about 4 years. It was exciting, and I will be using it at every opportunity. I was also given many things to finish my bedroom so that my bed is now on a frame instead of the floor, and I now have a place for my alarm clock and other bedside things. More amazingly is that I was given the world's most obscure DVD box set EVER. I have no idea where he found it, but it is absolutely absurd and delightful.
Well, dear log, it is time to make the most of our vacation before going back to work. I am lucky enough to be able to spend some of it with friends I haven't seen for many years. That reminds me, I need to make enough potatoes to serve 15 people... Damned holidays.
