I really hate travelling. I know I say that everytime, but this time really. I've decided I am going to avoid it as much as possible except the twice yearly flights to and from Syracuse (as if this werent enough.)
I don't know what happened with one segment of my flight, but the whole thing is ridiculous, one of my worst traveling experiences, including the time our flight was delayed 6 hours to Utah, my lost suitcase was not returned to me for 3 days in Switzerland where I had nothing, or the time they kept telling us the next flight would be ok just from LA to SF for about 3 flights, so that my 3 day weekend was already half gone. This is what happened 3 days ago:
I had a ticket from Tel Aviv to Nice, stopping in Zurich. I chose this ticket because I believed I was staying in Nice for 2 weeks, was the cheapest I could find, and was appx the same hours as my grandparents flight, though theirs stopped in Rome. Well, I asked the front desk if they could confirm my El Al flight, and they were like oh you don't need to. Even after I haggled they said no. So I asked another person to just give me the number. I called the airline, and somehow my flight was delayed by 40min two days in advance. Obviosuly it was over booked, and since my connection was only for 1 hour, I now would miss my connection. Bastards, they offer me a 7am flight. The only alternative, and I would have to wait in the airport for 9 hours, to take the connecting flight because it was with swiss air, and i had to wait for my grandparents in nice anyway. I got my grandpa on the found and after about an hour of haggling, asking for some sort of compensation, hotel, something, got nothing. So I was going to just take that flight. Then my grandpa decided to try to work something out with a travel agent, and got me a ticket on his flight, though I dont think we'll ever get a response about whether i get a refund on my original un used ticket.
In any case, after we all had had purchased our tickets for nice a month ago, my grandma and i decided to do a cooking class in Italy together, something close by that we could take the train to. But there was really only one my grandma liked, and it wasnt easy to get to. It so happens that it is most convenient to fly to the Rome to get there. So we spent two hours connecting in Rome, are spending one day in Nice, only to leave tomorrow morning to go back to Rome. Ugh. and I get really nauseous flying. Hence, I hate travelling.
