long time no see

It is separated into days, so it might be long, but you can skip stuff.

So Friday (11-12-04) I had to go to the doctor’s office to get my Tetanus shot so I could send in my updated immunization record to UNLV. On the ninth a recruiter came from there and my friend Kenthea and I were the only two who went. I gave her my application fee and filled out the app. Online, and I got accepted to UNLV. She said I should apply for the Honors College, and when I submit the application to E-mail her so she can put in a good word about me with the Honors college guy. Then she said to include in the E-mail that I want to learn more about the Cynthia Bunker Memorial Scholarship and she will give me the man who is in charge of it’s E-mail address. Woo! So after I got my shot, I went home and later that night Michelle picked me up to go play football. It was Miriam, Maria, Michelle and I in her car. We went to this park by boulder and Indios, and waited for some people to get there. Sam, Lori, Brett, and some people I don’t know showed up later and we decided to go to Paradise Park instead because there were like no lights in this park, so we kept missing the ball. So we got to the other park and Brett and Sam parked on the other side by mistake so they came to where we were finally and then they left to go to harmony park and we waited for Michelle’s friends to get there, but they never did, and so we just played football ourselves. And then three flies up, and I got knocked straight in the head once cuz Michelle and I were looking at this car that pulled in the driveway and Maria threw the ball to me and the side of my head caught it. Lol. After that we went to 7-11 cuz we were cold and I got a hot chocolate. Then we dropped Maria off at home and then they dropped me off.

The next Friday, the 19th, I went to The Crucible. I got there early to help, and I saw Morgan outside of the Theater room with this girl named Alyx that knew me from awhile ago, or something. Then I went in the classroom, and told Ms. Brogan I was there to help during the show and she thanked me and said she would tell me what to do during the show. After that I ventured into the cafeteria and saw Jordan, Char, and Lydia. Then, I look out the window of the cafeteria and Smatchet Josh and the other AJ were outside, so I like ran and was talking to them for a little while until they had to leave. Then, I went back inside and Ms. Brogan told me that my job was to make sure Derek got dressed and got makeup on. So he finally got dressed after getting distracted two million times. Lol. Then I saw Nic in the dressing room, and was walking around with him for a little while. Then I went backstage to wait for someone to tell me what to do to help during the show. I saw Morgan, and he was helping too, so we chilled on the couch and were waiting for the show to start. Then Yoshi came and said to turn my shirt inside out so it would be all black, cuz I had on my renaissance shirt. Then five minutes later, he came back and kicked me out of backstage because I didn’t go to a stupid meeting or something. Even though Ms. Brogan asked for me to come help that day, and earlier he said I could stay and everyone else knew I was supposed to be there, but no, I never got a say because everyone knows how insane he goes if you try to say anything against him, so instead of having him go completely insane, I went into the audience. I went all the way to the back and sat next to Nic and behind AJ and the girl he was with. During the performance, Hulsey came in with toast and a couple other people I didn’t know. Then they left a little later. The play totally kicked ass. It was the best play I have seen in a really long time, and so many people did such excellent jobs. It just blew me away. There were so many scenes that were so powerful, it was awesome!!!! I finally met Derek’s Renn Fair girl after the play, too.

Saturday the 20th I went to go work at the EvoLVe skate team competition at Winchester at 8 in the morning. Ernie was helping me be the MC, Ashley, Fred, Jaston, and Travis were judges, and Fred’s girlfriend Nikki was tallying the scores. Nate came and taped it, and afterwards, I got to interview the council about the team and the competition. It was awesome. Petey, Richard, and Kyle were in the intermediate standing. Darren gave me a camera to take pictures with during the comp. It was hella fun. So from 8 to about 10 was registration, then we started with 10-minute heats of 5 people each for the preliminaries. Then we did 5-minute semi-final heats, and finally 10 minute Finals. The competition was really good. Petey got 2nd in Intermediate. I got to be in charge of the music too, so it was fun. My mom brought me Del Taco around 12. The prizes were a board and a T-shirt for 1st, bearings and gift certificates to McDonalds for 2nd, and a hat and gift certificates to McDonalds for 3rd. Calen came and was hanging out for a while. After it was over, we cleaned up, and then I was hanging out with Jaston, Petey, Season, Ashley, and Taryn until like 4:30 then my mom picked me up.

Sunday I worked on my poem presentation for English for about 6 hours, then I got a headache and went to sleep for awhile. When I woke up, mom told me that Joe had called, but she told him that I would be sad if I missed his call, so she told him to call back in a few hours. He called at like 7, and he said he was on his way to go to dinner with his uncle, and I was thinking that they were in Texas, when he said that he wanted to surprise me, cuz he is HERE!!!!!!! Woohoo! He said he had been here for a couple days, but it was so hectic from having to visit family, that he didn’t have time to call me until now. He said that he would call me after dinner and if it wasn’t too late, maybe he could come over and see me. Well, it was too late, so he asked what I was doing on Tuesday and I told him that I work ‘til 6. He said we could do something after work if I wanted, and then said, “I don’t want to wait that long. What are you doing tomorrow?” I told him the same thing, so we decided to go see a movie after work.

Monday afterschool I went to work, and got off around 4 because it was a day where I only had to stay until there were 24 kids. I got home and called Joe, but he didn’t answer, so I left a message. I looked in the paper, and since I had to be home by 9, because it was a school night, there were only two movies that we could see in that time slot. The Incredibles or Seed of Chucky. So when he called me back we decided on Seed of Chucky and he said that he just picked up his friend Rich from work, who he hasn’t seen in like forever, so he would spend like a half an hour with him, then come pick me up around 6. So he called me when he was done and he was on his way, then he picked me up and was doing U-turns in the street. Lol. So we got to Sam’s Town, and found a parking space, and when we got out of the truck (which was his dad’s Ford), he gave me a hug. I pressed the button for the handicapped door, and Joe was like “You take all the gallantry out of it!” We walked inside, and got the tickets and went into the theater. My hands were about frozen and Joe said, “Let me see one.” And he put my hand between his two until it was warm, and then the other one. Hehe. Then he just held that hand for the whole movie. The movie was insane and stupid, but really funny at times. There were parts in the movie that had to do with the “made in Japan” logo thing and each time they did that we kind of laughed. Then after the movie we went walking through the casino to the Mystic Waterfall place and both of us just stopped when we got there. It was all decorated with lights, and was so beautiful! We went up to the balcony and took pictures, then we went all the way up in the elevator and Joe took a picture from looking down on it, which was awesome. He kept my camera because he knew that I would take a picture of him, and he hates pictures. When we went back to the balcony, the watershow started. I haven’t seen it in such a long time. I was standing on the left of Joe and I could see most of it, but a little was cut off by the huge Christmas tree, and like a minute into the show, Joe leaned over by me, looked and said, “You can’t see the whole thing from there!” and switched me spots. :giggle: When the watershow was at its last part, Joe said something like “That was awesome” and I was still looking out at the show, when he puts the camera in front of us, and takes a picture. I turned around and just held him for a minute.

Every time I am near him, I just long to stay there for the rest of my life. I could never look upon another person but him and be so deeply satisfied that my soul might burst out of my body. I could never imagine my life without him, and since I only see him about once a year because of the Air Force, each time I do see him, it is harder and harder to let him go again, for fear of losing him. It is insane the way I feel, and I try and try to just look over it while he is away, but my whole being will never let me. His touch leaves everlasting imprints in the deepest reaches of my soul, his taste blinding me to any other. Each sense heightens to the point of ecstasy, making regular life seem an impossible trek filled with reminders of his absence. And yet the evasive soul I long to share brings me to such heights just to flail through the air plummeting down to reality. Each flight a little longer, yet the fall more scathing . . . but I digress.

After the show, he asked if I was hungry and I replied “I could be.” So we went to go find something edible. This time, I let his chivalrous-ness open the door. Hehe. On the way we had a debate about those “Support the Troops” ribbons on people’s cars. Now that was interesting, and I think that for the first time ever, I won our debate! Usually, he makes his point so tangible, I seem to cling to the new view, but this time, he clung to mine. It was nice. We figured out that restaurants don’t take a half an hour, which was how much time I had left until I had to be home again, and then just came to the conclusion that we weren’t really hungry anyway. So, we were driving down flamingo, right by Paradise park, and I remembered telling him about playing football, so I suggested, for lack of anything better to do, that we go play football. So we went to the park, and then realized we had no football, so instead, we ended up “playing” on the swings. Lol. That sounded kind of dirty, but it wasn’t. We figured out that I have frozen-hand-itis. Haha. Let’s just say that I became warmer. So then we were laughing about the port-o-john’s as Joe calls them. Then we were on our way to my house and I texted my mom telling her we would be home soon, cuz it would be a couple minutes past 9. I made Joe go in the front way, so that next time he could come to the door when he picked me up. So he walked me to the door, and then I asked if I get my camera back, and he was like “Oh, shit . . .its in the truck!” We both started laughing and hauled ass back to the truck. I told him that I was sure he could find my door next time and he didn’t have to walk me there again now. So, then I figured out that the sides of trucks are comfy to lean against. *wink, wink* heh.

Wednesday was the Company Player’s Potluck for Thanksgiving, so each officer brought something for sandwiches. I brought bread. I tried to texted and called Joe a few times during the day to tell him that he should come because May and Derek wanted to see him before he left, and just so I could see him. Woo! So, I never got through, but he called me back around 1:30, and said that he had some free time on his hands, so I told him to come. I was so excited before he came; I was jumping up and down and shit like that. SO when he came, we were finishing up putting names in the hat for Secret Santa. He looked really tired and I asked how long it was since he slept and he said not last night, but the night before, which would be the one when we went to the movie. So, we were sitting up on the stage in the back by May, and everyone went around saying who they were, so others would know who they were buying presents for. Joe wanted to go see backstage since he hadn’t been here for awhile, so we went back, and then Yoshi came and told us to get out, and then they recognized each other, and shook hands and all that good stuff. It was really funny because when we went and were sitting back down, Joe would just randomly notice people he recognized, like Mikey, then Derek, etc. Then they started the feast, but I didn’t really eat anything because I wasn’t that hungry, and I just wanted to sit by Joe as much as I could. May let Joe look at her sketchbook, and I noticed that he was really blown away by it, and also that it made him kinda sad, because I know that its been getting less natural and harder for him to draw since he hasn’t had a lot of time to do so. Morgan put on some really good music, and then Joe was laughing, because Mikey, Yoshi and John were doing random loud outbursts of songs, like Peanut Butter Jelly Time, and stuff. It was great. Then I told Joe that I had to go soon, to go to work, and said that if he wanted to meet me there, he could say “Hi” to Bry Tago. He asked how I was getting there and I told him that I had to ride my bike, and he said that we could just throw it in the back of his Dad’s truck, and he could take me, so we did just that. When we got to George E. Harris, Joe got a really good parking spot in front. We went inside, and Bry came in like 30 seconds later. They chatted for a minute, then I went to walk him back out again, and I noticed that Joe had taken that last parking spot, so Bry had to park in the middle of two isles, and we laughed really hard. I told him to make room for me in his busy schedule of visiting people and he said that he would. Hehe . . . . The side of Joe’s Dad’s truck is really comfy . . . . ;) So, then I went back inside and I was talking to Bry, and she said that when she walked in, she didn’t recognize Joe for a minute, because she said that he looked preppy. Haha. So after work, I got home, and I was watching Shallow Hal downstairs, when my cell phone rang. I looked to see who it was, and it was a number from a different area code. I answered it, and immediately knew who it was! I know Mikey will remember, but I don’t think anyone else remembers the other Mike from a few years ago. Mike Quesada, who went by the name of Batman or Stereo to go along with Gragle and Shadow. There was that whole fiasco that year with Melinda and Tyler . . . =( but that’s all in the past. So we were talking for a few hours, and just filled each other in on what we’ve been doing. He said that he just moved from Milwaukee to Lacrosse, wherever that is. I know it’s in Wisconsin. Lol. He said that it was about 10 degrees there, and I was laughing, because I was freezing the other night and it was only like 50. He works at McDonalds, but is going to go be a carpenter soon, or something. It was like 11-12 a.m. here, and 1-2 a.m. there! So later, he asked if he could call me back in about 20 minutes and I said sure, but I ended up falling asleep before he called back.
