i really enjoyed the fact that you never really went into detail about minhyuk too often. we more or less know something is up with him with how you describe him in the summary but we never get a straight out answer. and you picked timing really well when it came to telling us the basic idea of what had happened.

you began really well more or less setting a good vibe with jaehyo that you managed to keep going throughout the majority of the fic and never really straying from that type. jaehyo's character kept his bleh feel and the one time he seems even the slightest bit happier you make sure to point it out to make obvious how different he is acting in comparison to how he was before.

jiho is just cray. kid is all but fucked up. since he keeps going back and forth on minhyuk we really can't take anything he says serious so we're just as in the dark as he is with minhyuk. this way added the perfect amount of wtf because no one really knows. jiho is supposed to be the one to tell us the gist of what's going on and he's just as in unknowing as we are if not more.

a fun read to end the halloween season in my opinion :3

tbh, minhyuk, for me is something of a ghost/possiby jiho's made him up in his own head aka fight club style but honestly, i just wanted him to be this threatening, dark presence in jiho's life that kind of forbids him from ever becoming more than a sort of average, working class guy. and jiho's supposed to just be teeter-tottering on the edge of sanity in contrast to jaehyo, who's, who's mostly just gone. idk, lol, this fic wasn't super thought out and was just written as it came to me. :)

to be honest jaehyo concerned me way more than jiho did. because jaehyo had slivers of moments in which he seemed to be mentally present and normal, it only made his episodes of wtf all the more dramatic. and jiho, as the supporting friend/lover/idkwtf should be trying to help him but he can't because he's battling his own inner demons.

but his being in his own thing is probably fucking up jaehyo even more because we don't know how he is reacting to more or less being alone. you'd think that jiho would be some sort of comfort but he is pretty much fucking it up for them both... idk if i'm even making sense lmfao

in all honesty, this fic is so much just the reader's interpretation of events. i think you can feel just as concerned over jiho or minhyuk (even though he is reeking havoc) in comparison to jaehyo. i will say, however, that i do agree with you. jaehyo, for me, was a representation of what minhyuk could do to you and i wanted that to be there as you see him breaking jiho down.

i kinda wanted to include one more jaeco scene in this fic but in all honesty, the more i added to this, the less impactful it seemed to me. but i reassure you, while jiho is fighting his own demons, he doesn't neglect jaehyo. at least in the sense that he'll never abandon him. of course, you're right in asking, but what capacity does he have to take care of jaehyo when he can't take care of himself?

i guess what i'm trying to say is: this is by no means meant to be a happy ending. i wanted it to be fucked up and i wanted people to feel alone and tortured and abandoned. the idea was that jiho wouldn't get his happy ending and jaehyo'd already lost his.

lol what?! my bias is minhyuk and kwon. but jaehyo makes up a huge chunk of my otps though (jaekyung and jaehyo/minhyuk. and all the crossover otps i have of him, especially with cnblue jonghyun idk :/)

i think you chose the right amount to include. it's pretty vague and its descriptive enough to give enough info to let us make our own assumptions but restrictive enough to not let you go crazy with it either.
