Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Thin, long-legged, well-toned. 160cm (5'2"?) annnnnd for the longest time she was as flat as a board, but now she has, like, minimal curves. MINIMAL. … Okay you can't really call them curves, I guess, but it's a little more obvious that yeah, she's a female.
2. How old is she? Nineteen.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She carries herself uniquely. Her posture's pretty good, but she moves around so much that she doesn't really bother to maintain it.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Very, very fit. She's wiry and pretty much all muscle, but not in the "ew, bulges!" sort of way. It's more subtle than that. Healthy in the sense that she's got a good immune system, but her motion sickness could win her a few gold medals.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? A mixture. In general, she's got a fluid kind of grace and cat-like reflexes, but she spends 60% of the time looking like she's about to fall on her butt. Or her face. It's kind of silly and playful, like she's living in the moment and doesn't care what happens next. In battle, it's all fluidity and impeccable co-ordination.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? She's cute and she knows it, but she also knows she's not on the same level as… let's say, Aerith. Or Tifa. It's what you get for being scrawny.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Fair to light tan, and generally clear. Most scars are faded or healed, except for the ones on her palms from all the shuriken-based mishaps in her youth.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Relatively thick and course, true black in colour, and cut into a weird, 'gradual' bob style; there's a few layers, and at its longest it brushes just past her shoulders. Her bangs are swept to the right.
9. What color are her eyes? THIS IS A LOADED QUESTION. 8| Squeenix keeps changing it. FFVII: Violet-grey, AC: brown, AC play-arts; green, KH&KH2: violet, DoC FMV: brown, DoC in-game: Violet-grey. My favourite is the violet-grey, but in Damned they're brown.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Other than her general lack of boobs and hips, nope.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Shoulders (and between the shoulder blades), and calves.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? Shorts! Short-shorts! Shorts so short they don't even count as shorts! She favours generally unique combinations that're both cute and utilitarian. Bright colours are common, but so are more muted tones, like khaki and darker shades of blue.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? They fit very well. What there is of them to fit, anyway. She also seems more than comfortable in them, and can move around in them easily.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? Preeeeetty much, yeah. All of her clothes are functional for her typical working environment anyway, so there's no real reason to dress-up in anything specific.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Briefs! Bikini-style or hipster.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Surprisingly not high-pitched! She does sound young, though. Kind of.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? God can this girl talk. Quick and easy, but not necessarily loudly - though that one does come naturally to her, too. Sometimes it's like her words are practically tripping over themselves to get out.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? No accent, no dialect, lots and lots of slang that she picked up from all over the place. She uses clippings and contractions, drops Gs, enjoys exclaiming, and generally makes Speaking a Fun Thing. Has some valley-girl habits, but doesn't abuse it too much. Usually.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? In my headcanon, she's bilingual; she speaks Wutaian and whatever the Gaian standard is, and she speaks them both fluently.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Nnnnnope to both.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? Impromptu all the way. She can come up with a speech at the drop of a hat, and since she loves being the center of attention, she's got no trouble speaking (and improvising) in front of an audience.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Informality, slang, and bluntness aside, Yuffie is decently eloquent. She's got a large (and colourful) vocabulary that she freely dips into whenever she please, even when she's not specifically aiming to sound impressive.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Pretty damn intelligent, but more street-smart than anything. She doesn't have the patience for book-learning, rote-learning, or anything else like it. More practical than theoretical, etc. (For example, she could come up with like twenty powerful and unusual materia combos in a few minutes, but trying to explain the exact mechanics would be like pulling teeth.)
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? On her feet like woah, but she's got the cunning to make it work.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Thinks with her gut and with her feelings because passionate expression is preeeetty much her middle name, but when it comes down to it, she's also about pragmatism… Kind of. Said pragmatism is misguided and skewed, but it is there and she does know how to use it, or she wouldn't have gotten half as far as she did in any of her ventures.
4. What kind of education has the character had? She's been training as a ninja since she was born, but other than that, I'd say her schooling is a little… uneven. Most of her not!ninja schooling was done at home, but once she left, she only really learned what she thought was necessary.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Ninjutsu, gymnastics, materia combos, sneaking, defying physics, scratching a living from rocks, conning people, annnd making stuff up as she goes along. She wants to learn more about anything that isn't boring.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert, but not a people-person. SOMEHOW THIS STRIKES ME AS A CONTRADICTION, but it's true.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Mercurial, like seriously. Can mood swing with the best of 'em, but usually with at least some justification. Generally cheerful, and incredibly driven.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Somehow Yuffie manages to be both enthusiastic and entirely dismissive all at once. It takes her a while to connect with people, and even when she has made that connection, she's got some pretty tough emotional guards in place.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? She swings both ways depending on the situation, but action >>>>>> reaction.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Fight. Yuffie'll hold her ground and push back in almost any situation (especially when she's after something or has something important to defend), though she does know when to cut her losses and get the hell out of dodge.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?

14. What does she fear? Losing her sense of self/purpose/etc. And failure. Annnnnd losing everything that she holds dear, which is pretty strongly tied to the 'failure' thing. Word of god says that she's relatively fearless, and nothing that she does fear will keep her down for long.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? WUTAI. Wutai, Wutai, Wutai. Oh, yeah, and the rest of the world. That too. Baaasically 90+% of what Yuffie does is ultimately to bring her home back from the dust and to make it better than it ever was before. She desperately wants to be proud of it and that can't…. really happen until there's something to be proud OF. WHICH THERE NOW IS. But there's still a lot of work to do; it's a lifelong project. … Other than that? … She'd really like to see a world where the next generation doesn't have to fight. She's fought for all her life, and the idea of not having to is almost incomprehensible to her, but… yeah. It's for the best.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? That she isn't always as confident as she acts. That she gets tired sometimes. That she does give a damn about stuff outside of her most immediate circle. That deep down she doesn't really think she's perfect. Idk this one is surprisingly hard.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. They. Do not see eye to eye. AT ALL. Even when their feelings are the same, they have different ways of going about stuff that frequently sets them at odds. And while it actually wouldn't be a long-shot to suggest that they ultimately care more about Wutai than they do each other, there's love under the surface.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? None.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Nope!
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? AVALANCHE, enough said. It's just like with Godo; they don't always get along, but when push comes to shove, there's nothing she wouldn't do for them. Cloud's like a pseudo-big brother person-thing, it's her job to make life hard for him blah-blah-etc-dingbats. For somebody who doesn't form strong relationships very easily, these people are very important.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Um. Yuffie doesn't really… have one. Nanaki is a possible candidate.
6. Does she have other close friends? Yuri. Their relationship is twisted like you wouldn't believe, but he's still important to her. Annnnd Kenshin, who is her closest non!AVALANCHE confidante at Damned. Suzie might be working his way up there too, and Sheena. See her CR chart for more details.
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Trouble doesn't even begin to describe it. It's only recently that she's begun to consider humanity in general (outside Wutai and AVALANCHE) worth even a bit of her time and attention, and forging bonds past the superficial is still uncomfortable for her.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? … Nnnngh tough question. The only simple way to put it would be Wutai > AVALANCHE > the rest of the world, but that's grossly oversimplified.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Nnnnnope.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Yuffie? Romantic-? Lolwut. No.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? Cloud was her first crush. Sano… might've been, if he'd stayed around for longer. Things got so damn awkward between them that it's hard to say, at least on Yuffie's part.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? Just that - she looks for a partner. Somebody to fight with, somebody to fight alongside, somebody who can take life in stride. Somebody to teach and maybe somebody even to be taught by. Somebody who can accept that a wanderer is a wanderer.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? No and no. Well. Maybe in the distant future, since she wants the Kisaragi line to continue, and for Wutai to have a strong ruler.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? Pffft has she ever. Half of her relationships involve some element or other of rivalry.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? I could be totally cliché and exclaim 'MATERIA SEXUAL', but - oh. Nevermind. She's a 0, maybe-possibly a 1. Doesn't really have a fully developed 'type', but she (would never admit that she) likes dorky hero-types, as infuriating as they can be. Would claim zero-ness or plain disinterest, which is probably about 80% true.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? Iiiiit's… not, really. She doesn't understand the principle of it being all sacred; it's fun and probably messy and it's How Babies Happen. She just. Doesn't. It's not something she's ever really thought about, either, what with her being so busy with Wutai and AVALANCHE and saving the world. Prrooobably has Standards, but hates the idea of "sex means marriage and marriage means being tied down".
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? Thou shalt not be boring. Thou shalt not be passive. Thou shalt not be a selfish jerk. Thou shalt not have a sense of entitlement. Thou shalt not take everything seriously. Thou shalt have a sense of fun. Thou shalt be ready to battle either way. … Yeah. Yuffie is not submissive but would hate a guy who just rolled over, or whatever.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? Chinese zodiac is Metal Ram (November 20th, 1991). The Ram doesn't fit her; she's probably more of a tiger. Metal… not really. Ambitious and self-reliant is right, as is controlling; rigid et al is not, however. She's more of a fire type; dynamism, persistence, enthusiasm, aggression, impulsivity. Yup.
Western astrological sign is Scorpio (Fixed Water), and it fits her pretty damn well. It's considered to be an exception amongst the usually benevolent, cooperative, and hospitable water signs (known as Servers by philosophers). Scorpios are strong-willed, self-confident, and intense, amongst a myriad of other things. It generally fits her quite well.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
Very, very loosely religious. It's part of her culture, and ingrained so deep in her heritage that she barely even realizes it's there. The Wutaian's principally believe in the power of their guardian deity, Leviathan, in the Da Chao mountain, and in the protection of the Five Mighty Gods (A.K.A. The Wusheng). Heart, shield, and sword. Or something. They've probably got all sorts of stuff about ancestors, the Planet, etc, too. Yuffie believes in what she sees and what she feels; she holds the Leviathan materia, stands at the head of the Wusheng, and she knows their power. She knows the power of the Planet. She knows what the Lifestream is. THEREFORE. Most of the time, she expresses her religion through casual blasphemy: "by Da Chao's sparkly pink jockstrap", "holy Leviathan wtf is that", etc.

Let me start off by saying that Yuffie's moral compass most assuredly does not point north. It. Really doesn't. Also, she does not believe that what is right for others is right for her, nor that what is right for her is necessarily right for anybody (or everybody) else. She sticks to her own morals and ethics, (usually) without dragging in anybody else, in order to accomplish her own goals.
Put it this way. She wants to restore Wutai. She willingly becomes a liar, a thief, and something of a traitor, in her bid to do so. She does this alone. Partially-or mostly-because the rest of her people are too busy wallowing up their own asses, but partially because it's her responsibility; she's willing to sacrifice her own honor, because that's her own choice.
