So, I've been in Tallahasse for about three weeks. I have to say, I've thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. As of 1205 today I'll have finished my second weeks of classes, and I'm not that far behind! I have to catch up on some reading, but I'll be done before its night. I have a few long term academic goals that I will pursue with vigor. I will finish this year, and years to come with a 3.75-4.0 average. Anything less and I will be dissappointed. Heres a rundown of my classes...
Family Relationships and Developments: This is the BIGGEST BS class in the world. It has a FOOTBALL player in it. My advisor said it would be good for my major. And I do see things that I can take from this class, so its not a complete waste.
World History since 1815: I love modern history, especially WWII, the Korean war and the Vietnam war. This class is very exciting, and the professor is cool. There is no textbook so I saved a bunch of money by switching to geico.
Intro to Education: This is BY FAR my most favorite class. EVAR. I love Dr. Bruno to death. He is just the best. We've done a ton of icebreakers in that class, so I know everyone and its just such an awesome community style atmosphere. I cant wait to get out into the community and volunteer with the schools. Its so exciting!
Those are my Monday Wednesday classes. I also have Family and History on Friday.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have an AWESOME Dinosaur class. At first I thought it'd be a blow off, but its actually some work. But its all so incredibly interesting that I dont mind it. The professors are about the looniest guys you'll ever meet. Its hilarious. The class is pretty big, but not as big as bio 1 (which is the core science class EVERYONE takes, but dinosaurs takes care of that credit) which is about 1000 ish people.
Then my last class meets every Thursday and its Campus Band. Which I totally love. They're SO GOOD. And everyone is so nice. I'm the only freshman tuba, but I dont feel looked down upon for my "rookie" status. I've made friends with a senior tuba who's hilarious. Its just a great class.
I also get the amazing opportunity to be a founding member of the FSU Peer Mediator's club. Which is advised by Dr. Bruno!
Before coming here I was afraid of not fitting in, or it not being for me, but over this past almost month, through the people I've met, classes I've taken, food I've eaten, I've realized how perfect FSU is for me. and I have an awesome girlfriend who I love with all my heart
Oh, and before I get ready for History, to all you Miami fans out there...
GO NOLES!!!! 13-10!!!!
Watch out Gayterds. We're coming. And we're coming hard.
