oh no, imperfect art!

Some art developments recently. Last week or the week before it sunk in that since I'm using a tablet now, *and* have gotten the hang of it, I no longer need to make everything vague. I also visited Elfwood again and spent some time looking around. The range of quality there is striking. I'd forgotten just how much varience there was in skill there. There's jaw-droppingly good art to uncomfortably bad art. But both was posted, and seemed to make someone happy (and for that matter also garnered insults). But there was lots of art that seemed like it was enjoyable to make, and stuff that was inspiring and made me want to draw something shiney.

I've come to a conclusion. I need to do art for fun again. For the last few years, I've worked very hard to make good art. I've struggled with pieces, trying to fix everything, pouring over exactly where an edge would go, or whether something looks wrong. I've tried so hard to make perfect art, so people would like it. I've let it become a chore. So, I intend to do art without caring so much what it's gonna look like when it's finished. I did a couple of pics just for fun and practice and the sheer joy of watching something take shape from lines and colors. I'd like for people to like it, if they do, great, and if they don't, I can't help that much, anyway.
