Today I learned to, and put into practice for the very first time, how to super heat up a big chunk of sterling silver in a large crucible with a super hot oxy acetaline torch (the kind you have to wear dark shades to work with), until the metal had become entirely molten, before pouring it into a mold I had carved from the skeletal structure of a cuttle fish.
Key terms, silver, molten, metal. Hot.
The pour turned out perfectly too, unlike my jewelry making of the last two semesters, with rings taking me weeks to craft, this took less then an hour. Yum. Let the fun accessories roll.
