Happy Friday!
It's a slooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww day at work, so I figured it was prime time for an update.
I got my job! They scared me for a second that it wasn't guaranteed to me--I mentioned having to go through the whole apply/interview/etc. process... they interviewed other people and were just very cagey about the whole thing before making me an offer. Not sure if that's standard protocol, legal obligation or what, but I got it, so whatevs. I will be making a bit more money and getting BADASS benefits. :D I'm official on the 18th. YAY!
I'm very pleased that we're grabbing beers with Brian's former co-worker Josh this evening, I want to get advice from him on health insurance options and things, he's great with that stuff.
Brian being away in D.C. was actually great! I was dreading it, but it was lovely to spend time apart. I don't mean that in a negative way, but I do think we're a bit too joined at the hip sometimes, and it was just different and refreshing to have a nice, long while being off by ourselves. I am glad to have him back, though. :)
It's got me thinking that I need to engineer that more often--maybe not ten days at a time, but it makes me wistful that I don't have more close girlfriends to run off and frolick with. I need that in my life, but I'm so frakking socially awkward, blargh.
