Ohhhhhhh, boring Wednesdayyyyyyyyyyy.
I don't wanna work.
:)
I told y'all I'm going permanent here, right? WAHOO. :D It's still in processing. Big Boss said it would be a few weeks to a month. Can't waiiiiit.
I'm officially allowed to talk about Brian's brother... he is home from the hospital, the final diagnosis was an enlarged heart and cardiomyopathy. He isn't allowed to have salt or alcohol anymore or be too physically active, at least in the short term. He isn't going back to work this year (school year, that is--he's a teacher). I don't really know anything beyond that. It's not unserious, but he seems relatively okay--at least, emotionally. One day at a time and all that jazz.
B & I have started a project to watch all of the movies from the IMDB Top 250 list that we haven't already. Between the two of us, that's 173 movies, most of which are ones I haven't seen.
I'm enjoying it, as a self-assigned exercise... I'm trying to be more open and cultured about movies. Expose myself to new things and all that noise. I have found that I'm somewhat keen on Noir, after watching Chinatown.
Thus far, I am down:
Trainspotting (I know, I know, I should've seen this long ago, always meant to)
Saving Private Ryan (SO LONG. But not bad. I'm not a huge war movie person, though.)
Se7en (Not really sure why it always crests Top Movies Ever lists; it wasn't a bad movie, but it wasn't omfgwtfbbq amazing)
Chinatown (love, but EFFED UP)
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (quite the test of endurance...)
Goodfellas (I liked, but also like to sum it up with "Spaghetti! *PUNCH*")
Snatch (entertaining enough, but with how people revere it, I kinda expected more)
Some Like It Hot (SUPER CUTE and Marilyn is not as annoying as I'd expected)
Speaking of movies, just bought tickets for B, myself and three friends to see The Hunger Games at the 21+ theater on Friday! Yay for drinking in the theater and NO GIGGLY TEENAGERS!!!!!!
