Epic Disney Picspam!

Feb 07, 2010 01:49

I'm... sixteen. I can drive now. Crazy, eh? :P

Anyway, this picspam better work. I tried it twice already and stupid LJ deleted everything. :(

Note: DCA=Disney's California Adventure, DL=Disneyland, and DW=Disney World.

My mom, my sister, and I arrived in Los Angeles Saturday night/early Sunday morning. We went to a hotel close to the airport, and the next morning we went to downtown LA and Manhattan Beach, which was amazing. Seriously, to go from 30 degrees to 60 degrees... awesome. It made me want to move to CA right then and there!

Pretty water. :3 You don't get that here in NY. It's greener.

View from the hotel room!!

Later in the day, we decided to do Disney’s California Adventure.

Mickey's Fun Wheel!

Um, I’m not going to lie, I don’t really like DCA. It just kind of loses its Disney-ness, if you know what I mean. There are some rides that still have it, but others… not so much. You could just find them at any old amusement park.

I do, however, love Monsters Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue ride.

Roz! I love her. :P

Aaaahhhh! Mike Wazowski, with one I/eye! (I just love quoting DW’s Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, lol.)

Their scenery is also pretty amazing, and it’s one of the things that I love about Disney.

I also love Tower of Terror and Toy Story Midway Mania. I could ride ToT 20 times in a row, and I love the competitive aspect of TSMM!

My highest score! :P *is a newb*

Mistah Potatah Head! <3

Tower of Terror! In the front row are my sister, me, my mom, and my friend Rayna's dad. =P Btw, see how there are some empty seats? My sister was spazzing because she thought we would have a 40-min wait after the Aladdin show let out. Pshhh.

And speaking of which, the Aladdin show is EPIC. It's funny, and Aladdin is RIPPED (unlike Gaston from DW's Beauty and the Beast show - he wears padding)! Daaaang, I'd rather have Aladdin than DL's Naveen! And Genie is hilarious. He made a comment about Aladdin and Jasmine, saying that they were just like Bella and Edward, but - "only not as depressing!" And the whole Expecto Patronum thing with Jafar becoming a genie... just epic.

You can KINDA see some resemblance of abs here, but it's pretty bad lighting. :(

Marry ME, Aladdin, not that ungrateful bi -- juuust kidding. :)
This pic really makes me squee, for obvious reasons.

LOVED this part. Everyone bows down to Jasmine because she's like "I *AM* the princess, idiots," but Aladdin doesn't notice and he thinks they're bowing down to him... oh, Al. I'll say it again: MARRY ME.

The principals!

I also liked the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Out of all the Disney characters, though - Kenai and Koda! Nobody even knows who they are. xD I do, though! I looove Kenai (AKA Pedo Bear ;)).

... That was actually quite painful, lol. And I look sooo attractive.

Why, lookie there! <3 Koda kissed me, aw. They were the first characters I went up to, so I was a bit shy. ^_^

Also, the building with the Animation Academy and Sorcerer's Workshop is pretty cool. Yes, I did do the animation thing, but we were stuck with drawing Goofy. WHY do I always have to draw Mickey & Co.?? I want to draw some real Disney characters - like a human, or Simba, or frog!Naveen - ANYTHING is better than drawing the Mickey characters. =( I think my Goofy pic got ruined in the rain, so I don't have it anyway.

OMG LOOK it's Beauty and the Beast! They may have the show at DW, but they have nothing except for a Sorcerer's Workshop room at DCA.

In that room, you get to take a quiz to see which Disney princess( or prince? I don't know, I'm not a guy xD) you are, and I got Cinderella lol.
There was also another room, featuring The Little Mermaid, where you could put your voice into a Disney scene. I tried to do some acting from The Lion King, but I got too embarrassed and left. My mom did Hakuna Matata, and it was hilarious.

Simba!!!!! <3

They also have the Blue Sky Cellar, where they show you what's coming up for Disneyland. There, they explain why you keep seeing signs like these:

The World of Color pictures are really pretty. I wish I could hang them in my room or something.

It kinda looks like Fantasmic, but DL already has/had that, so I don't know.

Awesome! Pixar Parade Picspam! Say that 3 times fast!

Now onto Disneyland... which I personally like much better, but I don't have as many pics from there.
We mostly spent our time in DL. On Monday, I met up with my best friend Rayna, but we split up after a little bit because we (me and her dad) were trying to get her to go on Space Mountain and she started crying. =( I could've gone to meet Naveen that day, but I chickened out when I saw the line so I just figured I could go the other 3 days. Too bad it rained on Tuesday. It was pretty bad, but nothing compared to the snow. I just wore a poncho and went on Splash Mountain a couple of times before Zippadeedoodah made me want to Avada Kedavra everything in sight. :P Finally, on Wednesday, I did it. I saw Naveen. And it was awkward.

Well, first thing I said was "will you marry me??" Uh, not the best first impression. Tiana was like "oh my word no" and Naveen was like like "but I can be your prince for a few minutes, and then it will last a lifetime!" and then he...

HE KISSED MY HAND!!! I am such a fangirl.

HA. Tiana closed her eyes, so I actually don't look the worst in the picture. Although I AM ridiculously short. Oh well.

SPACE MOUNTAIN IS AWESOME. (I don't like the huge burst of light at the end, which is why I closed my eyes. And I decided to make myself look "cool" while doing so. lol)

Matterhorn was fun, but I kept on ending up having to sit on top of my sister. And we actually went on all of the little storybook rides! My favorite one is Pooh. =)

Micky bench!!

Astro Blasters!! AKA the game I seriously fail at. =P

Anyway, that's about it for the things that I have, so I'll just put some more pics of me and characters.

Awkward Mickey hug! Yay! :D

Stitch made me even shorter than I really am... xD

Donald was shocked by my bright green nail polish. (Okay, for the record, I was also wearing black, gold, and purple. And if you're a Louisianian, you'll know what's so special about those colors. Or if you're a Princess and the Frog nerd like me. :P)

Dale! Yeah, can't figure out the difference between them for the life of me. lol

On Wednesday we went to Los Angeles. And spent most of the day in traffic. I was not amused. I really should've just stayed in the park. =/.

That guy was so creepy. He came up to me and started gesturing that he wanted a picture, so I went next to him, and then he said in a really creepy voice that he wanted money. Uh, no thanks, Creep-o. o_O

Kodak Theater. Me spacing out. Yaaay.

Pretty sunset, though! (I edited out the power lines, naturally. ;))

It was a pretty fun trip. But a Disneyland picspam wouldn't be complete without a fireworks pic!!

Not exactly over the castle, but who cares? =P

I honestly think that if I do get a job working at the parks, it'll be in DW, because a) it's closer, and b) I like it better. Well, we'll see.

Oh, and I took a pic of all the stuff I accumulated/bought! In addition to getting into Disney parks for free, my sister also gets 50% off all merchandise at the parks until February, or something like that. I still didn't buy as much as I could've, though.

From top left to bottom right: some magazines and park maps I got from various info booths, a Mickey cookie cutter, an "Every Tree Has Character" bag, a Timba (yeah, I just failed) Timon and Pumba plushie that I found into the Disney cast store but looks nothing like them, another magazine from the plane, a bunch of postcards for my wall/friends, a napkin, some Pooh chocolates (not sure if I should keep them or save them...), a Mickey confetti piece from the parade, a TIANAVEEN magnet that my sister bought me (bless her), a Mickey necklace that I now wear 24/7, Minnie, Buzz, and Mickey Kookie pens (for friends) and a Sulley pen for me, a Goofy button that says "Gawrsh" when pressed (also for a friend), a Pixar pen (with no Ratatouille or WALL-E =(), and all my park passes, a photopass card, and some fastpasses we didn't use/I found. All in all, a pretty good haul!

Now let's see some close-ups...

Naveen actually looks pretty good! Can't say much about Tiana, though... This is in my locker now. :)

Mickey necklace. it's kinda small, but I love it. <3

SO. I think I'm done now. I miss Disney!!! Exactly a week ago I was on a plane back to NY. And two weeks ago I was on a plane heading to California.

disneyland, california
