The weekend in London proved to be another top party weekend. It's just a shame that I have no working camera at the moment to record events, a fact that needs to be rectified sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately the Covenant gig was less thrilling than anticipated, largely due to the poor choice of some of the tracks and the overall structure of the set rather than any lacklustre performance by the band. The venue lighting could have been better as well and some back projection by the band would also have added something. Words need to be had.
A day back in Malmö after the interminably tedious airport experience that follows such a fun weekend was a brief respite before taking a road trip down to Berlin with a couple of friends. The featured, in the main, large amounts of tourism, particulary of a military variety since both guys are military history geeks ;)
I have to say that the modern memorial to the holocaust was of particular note. As well as avoiding the usual extreme photography and video footage in favour of a more personal individual reflection on events, the overall architectural experience of the site left one feeling more contemplative than horrified.
Of course, the inevitable clubbing was to be had and large amounts of alcohol were 'accidentally' consumed. Damn those Absinth shots!
Unfortunately the highligh of the weekend at club Insel was curtailed due to the inevitable early morning travel plans back to Sweden. Still, with an open invitation to go back and DJ I'm sure many more hours of fun are there to be had! ;)
