Let it be noted that I RAN from the bus stop to be on time for this ep, and only missed about a minute of it. *cluthches ribs*
Ohhh, this ep, this very very subtexty ep. Sometimes I think the writers get off on teasing the fans.
ENJOYED:
- How the names of the siren/incubus were all after Disney princesses. Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, Belle...ahaha. LOVE. I giggled when Dean was describing them to the surly boss ("5'9 redhead, an Asian chick...")
--Bobby's phone bank! OMG that is made of WIN.
--Sammy sexing it up again. Mmmmph.
--Dean's new BFF! As soon as he and Dean were in the bar talking about classic music and he was fanboying over the Impala, Corin offhandedly went, "That's the siren!" And then we started giggling over how he'd be all, "Dean, we can be BFF but Sam has to go. You know that nobody appreciates the Impala the way WE DO." AND THEN HE DID! Well. Kind of. And maybe I'm a horrible person, but I started cracking up when he was like, "WE CAN BE BROTHERS 4EVAH!!!!"
WAS LESS PLEASED WITH:
--Ugh, boys. FRIGGIN TALK TO EACH OTHER. Neither of them has any call to be pissed off, because neither of them will TALK to the other one. Dean doesn't even call Sam out on stuff until he's under the siren's spell.
--The fact that both the boys got sucked into the spell. I really thought Dean might be playing the siren when he cut Sam, or that Sam might be playing it, or that they were BOTH playing it, but I guess the point was that they were supposed to be at each other's throats, probably as a parallel to what may come later in the season with the heaven vs. hell subplot. *sighhhh*
--Helloooo, Bobby "Deus Ex Machina" Singer. *wince* They have got to stop using him as a way to save the boy's asses. Seriously, I love Bobby, I do, but I wish they'd tie him in more without always having him be the encyclopedia with all the answers (or the knight in shining...uh, ball cap)! He deserves more than that, I think.
THINKY-THOUGHT:
--I never thought I'd say it, but Wincest is a little canon. *blink* Well, at least it seems that's what the writers were implying. I know the siren thing wasn't supposed to mean anything other than that the Winchesters are a pair of very devoted brothers, but the oxycotine (or whatever that chemical was that was found in all the men's blood - I probably spelled it wrong) is what you get when you're falling in LOVE. After SEX. Therefore, why would it have affected either of them if there wasn't...you know...something else working there besides platonic brotherly love? Am I reading too much into that? I am by no means a Wincest shipper, but that seemed kind of blatant to me. Any thoughts, y'all?
ETA: That was the last episode for a month?! WHAT. How did I miss that?!
