I'm wondering...
If God knows everyone's destiny, and destinies can't be changed, how come Castiel says they're "unsure" where Sam's path is leading? That confuses me. Does that hint that there are two ways destiny can go, but once you choose one, that's it?
And when he says Dean has to stop Sam, does that mean kill him? That's what I took from it (*flashes back to season 2*) but maybe it could mean Dean just has to get Sam to quit using his powers.
Also, I wonder why Mary didn't remember what Dean had said about not getting out of bed on November 2nd, 1983. Like, isn't that a little detail you'd file away, especially after all that shit went down? Did she remember, and decide to get up anyway because of Sam? Or did she forget and only remember when she went into the nursery? Any thoughts?
And ok, wouldn't John think it was creepy how familiar his son Dean was when he grew up? Wouldn't he be like, "Dude, he's the clone of the guy (ALSO NAMED DEAN) who convinced me to buy the Impala!"? Or did he write it off as him remembering wrong, or maybe figure that Dean had done some time travel?
I still think Castiel was being an asshat this episode. That's pretty cruel, to take Dean back there and say, "Stop it from happening!" He didn't have to do that; he could have just told Dean to watch and learn. After all the crap Dean's been put through, I think that was kind of low, and I don't like it. I guess it just shows that angels play dirty, too. And ok, I know he wasn't being malicious, he was making a point (you can't change destiny!), which is pretty similar to what the Trickster did to Sam. But. Ugh.
The actor playing Young John was absolutely perfect, btw. And so was Young Mary, and her parents. Plus, now we know her maiden name--Campbell.
I still can't believe she was a hunter. I mean, it makes perfect sense, but....wow. Just. Wow. I teared up when she was talking about how she would do everything to make sure her children were never raised into it the way she was. D:
