 So, I have a tumblr. Sorry if some of you are seeing this post twice! D:

I've had it since summer and I have no clue how to use it. I need some help, y'all.

I need to learn tumblr. It took me like two years to understand LJ, so I’m hoping to expedite this process.

So, for anyone who happens to read this:

Yay! Following you--I'm pieandsweettea.

Basically you're going to want to follow people. Starting with your flist is the best place, and then you'll notice who they reblog a lot and start following them. You can also search for your favorite things and find communities dedicated to them to follow.

Tumblr isn't really a great place for serious discussion--it really is mostly about gifs and pretty graphics and quotes and music and videos and other short things. Which isn't to say that some people don't post awesome long text posts that get good responses, because they do, but it's much more difficult and not at all conducive to real discussion like eljay.

Mostly you'll open up your dashboard, see things you like, and reblog them. Anything that strikes your fancy. To get a better idea of what other people post, just scroll through people's tumblrs.
