I've heard with dogs you should change the name from the shelter one so they associate their new name with their life with you, not their life at the shelter... the same is probably true for cats? Anyway, I think Eva is really pretty.
Ooh, yeah, that makes sense. I thought Zaria was pretty but I'm not sure how I feel about it. She's just a gorgeous cat, and I've been discussing names for the past hour or so, haha. Thanks for the vote! Eva's right up there for me. :)
Tough call, since I name all my kitten babies based on personality. She will totally show her personality and then the name for me is like "OMG this fits perfectly!" But... PICTURES OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN!
I'm not sure what will work! We've tried calling her all sorts of different names and so far nothing seems to fit. Or maybe we're just indecisive, haha. And pictures are coming soon! I promise! :D
Keep in mind that, depending on how old she is, her eyes may not stay blue. Just like human babies, kittens are always born with blue eyes, but they can change. Just an FYI. :D
I actually really like Zaria, but if I had to pick a second favorite, it would be Luna. Very pretty. And I second the request for pictures!
And she's seven, so I'm pretty sure her eyes will stay that lovely blue. I was surprised, because I know that it's not necessarily common for cats to have blue eyes.

And since I know you have lots of cat experience: do you have any suggestions for how to coax her not to bother us at night? We don't have a bedroom door (it's a studio apartment), and I'd prefer not to shut her in anywhere. She's a love, but she kept jumping up onto the bed, waking us up, and trying to crawl under the covers.

Hmmmm, not having doors is tough. :( Do you know if she likes catnip? I was thinking you could try getting her a carrier that's a bit too big, getting a nice comfy bed, and leaving the door open. They make catnip spray that you could put on the bed, so maybe she'd be more inclined to sleep in there, instead of with you. Sometimes the kitties actually like being in an enclosed space; it's like a den to them.
I've also seen a product in Petsmart called No Stay, which is designed to deter cats from certain areas. I've never actually used it, but I have used the No Scratch spray (which is made by the same company) and it works like a charm. I'd try spraying it on your comforter and whatever else is exposed to her (bedspring, etc.) to see if she'll stay off your bed.
Also, I'm not sure how big your apartment is, but if you can create a couple of areas that she feels are just her own, she might be more inclined to sleep there.
