¡No pare, sigue, sigue!

I just got back from In The Heights.

It was amazing. Seriously. This is my second time seeing the show, and I'm just as in love with it as I was the first time I saw it two years ago, even after listening to the music so often that I know every single word.

I just...can't even explain how inspiring and fantastic this show is. Even people who aren't big musical or Broadway fans, like my dad, really seem to get into it. It's the kind of show that makes you sit on the edge of your seat and pay attention, keeps you engaged the entire time, straining for every word.

I was so pleased to get to see Lin-Manuel Miranda reprising his role. That just made it for me. I feel so lucky to have been able to see him perform live twice. The man is just an absolute inspiration. I know I'm gushing, but he's done exactly what I dreamed about when I was younger: written a kickass show, starred in it, and told a story about his home and his culture and done something new and just ahhhh. I could go on forever.

I wish I could have stayed to get something autographed, but my family was hungry and since we went to the matinee, I wasn't sure if the cast would be outside at all. :(

Either way, it was just great. I got a t-shirt and my dad surprised me by buying one of the ultra-cool programs with all the glossy pictures and lyrics inside.

I'm just sad it's over. I wish I could go see it again.

If you ever have the opportunity to see this show, do so. Even if you can't speak Spanish. Even if you don't like musicals. I promise, it's completely worth it.

this is for my latino people, lin-manuel miranda gets his own tag, in the heights, no pare sigue sigue, give my regards to broadway
