-Application-
Name: Elita
Nicknames: I don’t have any.
Age: 18
Location: California
Sexuality: Straight
-What do you like about your friends/best friend?
My friends are pretty much my family. I was home schooled with four of my friends (along with my two brothers). We live in homes right next to one another and nothing is wrong with randomly walking in at any point in the day to, oh, say, steal some peanut-butter and watch a movie.
-Would you rather have one close friend for the rest of your life or a group of friends? A group of friends. Everyone has different interests. I can go on and on for hours about guitars and not bore Skyler, and then go on and have a three hour debate on painting with Logan. Because we can always go to someone else, we rarely trouble one another with things that the other doesn’t care about.
-What awesome traits do you have that should get you accepted into the community? I’m driven, creative, thoughtful and unique. I like interacting with people and hearing their opinions.
-What three communities are you most active in?
Today is the first day I’ve been on LJ since 2004. But I promise to get a little better at that…
-If you could do anything to Flavor Flav, what would you do?
Flavor Flav seems the type that would be fun to play video games with. I’d invite him to join me in a game of Mario Cart.
-If you could have wild sex with any person in the world, who would it be and where? Wild, hmm? The lead singer from The Blood Brothers…that would be very interesting. In a closet somewhere where we weren’t supposed to be having sex.
-If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? My father. He died when I was only a few days old, so I never got to know him. My mother always tells me that I’m a lot like him, so I think it would be cool to talk to him.
-If you could kill one person, celebrity or non-celebrity who would it be?
There’s this creep that’s been giving my brother’s girlfriend problems. He’s been following her around and harassing her. Mind you, Riley will end up taking care of it himself, but I’d rather the creep just not cause any more problems.
-If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Denmark. It’s where I grew up for the most part and I would like to go back to see it.
-Favorite childhood memory: Spending time with my older brother Riley. I always felt older and he always did his best to make me feel important.
-What are your views on...[pick five]
Self-mutilation-
Gun Control- I hope to never see the day that I need a gun to protect myself. However, if the day does come, I want the option to be open to me.
Abortion: I don’t think that I could ever have an abortion. Mind you, I have never been in the situation and therefore can’t be sure. I think that I just wouldn’t have the ability to do it. However, I can say no to an abortion; that is my freedom, my choice. I feel others should have the freedom to say yes.
Internet dating:
Substance abuse:
Stem-cell Research
The War on Terror
The Death Penalty I believe in the death penalty. BUT not without stipulations. If the person in question has murdered one or more people and has been found guilty beyond any doubt at all, then I think that they should be eligible. I don’t think that they currently take that last part to heart enough. I mean evidence like a video recording, ten eyewitnesses, and forensics data.
"One nation under god" in the pledge of allegiance I understand why the fight exists. I understand completely and totally why people feel that they must stand up against this, and to a degree I agree with the fact that it should be removed. However, unless an individual is being forced to say it, I don’t see it being a huge problem. I have been told that some children in public school are forced to say it, and in that case then I do not agree with anything about the situation at all.
Evolution vs. Creation Science
Legalization of Marijuana I think it should be legalized. I don’t do it, but it would bring in extra money and, if regulated, would be around as damaging to society as drinking. Meaning not enough to send everyone into a panic.
-What do you want to be when you "grow up", or if you are already grown up, what did you want to be when you were younger?: I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was younger. Now I plan on being a librarian.
-What is one of your hobbies that you really love and why? I sword fight with my brother Riley. One day he decided that he would buy wooden practice swords for himself, my brother Ian, and me. Ian never really got into it but Riley and I practiced endlessly. Later on we bought lightweight, blunted swords and began sparring with them. It’s fun and not very dangerous if you know what you are doing and we still do it every time I get to visit him.
-Name three of your interests:
Sword fighting, filming, reading
-Something you know now, that in retrospect, you wish you'd known "then"
From the time I first moved to California and met Skyler, I liked him. And yet it took until I was 17 to realize that he liked me as well. We still have plenty of time, but I could have spent a lot less time worrying about if he liked me or not.
-Inner most desires:
To be a director. Not that I won’t like working in the library; I’ll love it. It’s just one of those dreams you have in the back of your head.
-Describe yourself in 5 words: Courageous, compassionate, determined, friendly, sensible.
Top three books that you feel were written about you and why:
Book 1: The Phantom Tollbooth
Author: Norton Juster
Explanation: This was one of the first chapter books I ever read, and what really hooked me into reading. It’s whimsical and exciting and everything that a kid could want in a book. I still read it all the time.
Book 2: Unfinished Tales: The Lost Lore of Middle-Earth
Author: Tolkien
Explanation: I did love The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and even the Silmarillion, but unfinished tales was always more my type of book. I love mythology, and I love that middle-earth had all of these stories behind it.
Book 3: The Writers Guide to Character Traits
Author: Linda Edelstein
Explanation: My copy of this book is marked up and down, things highlighted, underlined, corners folded, spine cracked a million times over, and I will avoid getting a new one for as long as possible. I write short stories, and this book contains every quirk that results from anything that could happen to a person. It is an amazing reference book that I would recommend to any writer ever.
Top five songs that make the soundtrack of your life and why
Song 1: Song 2 (“Woo Hoo”)
Artist: Blur
Why: Who hasn’t played this song far too loud while driving somewhere with friends, screaming along every chance they got? Well, probably a lot of people, but I bet a few of you know what I’m talking about. It’s the perfect song for driving with friends any time of the year, any time of the day.
Song 2: Fingertips
Artist: They Might Be Giants
Why: Listening to this song is like listening to a patchwork of music. Each part is a different song, so it works for no matter what mood you are in. It just seems like something that would be playing over a scene where I walked around high school, where your mood changes every five minutes.
Song 3: This is the Last Time
Artist: Mae
Why: The sound of this song is amazing. I doubt that I will ever get over it. This song would be playing over any part of my life in which I was in trouble along with friends. Something epic would have to be happening, of course.
Song 4: Innocence Again
Artist: Switchfoot
Why: I know, I know, Switchfoot isn’t the most popular band ever. But I really do like this song, because it makes me think of a time whenever I got over a large fight with a close friend.
Song 5: State Street Residential
Artist:Death Cab for Cutie
Why: Sometimes you just need a song to listen to when you’re upset…not one that makes you feel better, but just makes you wallow in your own self-pity for a while. This is that song for me.
Top three movies you should have starred in and why:
Movie: American Beauty
Why: I would have loved to have been friends with Ricky Fitts, who always strikes me as the most interesting character in cinema.
Movie: Rushmore
Why: I would have liked to have been friends with Max Fischer, as well. I like to think that I could have made things a little bit easier for him.
Movie: Scream
Why: Because who hasn’t want to be in a horror movie just so they could actually tell the people to look behind them or to lock the stupid door? It would be very satisfying to finally scream these things and have someone listen.
-Do you consider yourself unique? Why?
I’m pretty unique because of my quirks, as we all are. I hate nicknames, I don’t like them. Within weeks after moving into the area around my current friends, none of them went by nicknames. I love lima beans. I’m very particular about how my movies and books are organized. I listen to lots of Celtic music. Things like those that people notice when they first meet me but after getting to know me forget.
-What are some characteristics you admire in yourself & why?
As I’ve said before, I’m driven. I don’t need encouragement other than the fact that I just want something to happen, that’s always been enough. Also, I adopted my father’s musical abilities, so says my mother, so I picked up the guitar pretty easily.
-Are you tired of filling out this survey?
I took a dinner break, so no, I’m fine.
-Is it worth it?
I should hope so.
-If we give you no's, will you bitch and cry about it? If you do, do you care that we might ban you because you obviously didn't read the rules?
No, I probably won’t. If I do, then you can go ahead and ban me.
-How did you hear about this community?
I joined in 2004, but apparently my name has since been removed from the members. Two years of inactivity does that to a person.
-Please take this time to rack up some brownie points and kiss our asses.
Why, ladies and gentlemen, I assume that being here has given you a level of conceit. Continue to nourish it, as I’m sure you aren’t nearly as smug as you SHOULD be, given your amazing looks, personalities, and skills in bed.
