West Virginia!!
Well yesterday I got home from West Virgnia. It was amazingly awesome!
Saturday- We had to be at the church by 4:45am. We ended up leaving around 5:30am. I was in Jay's car with Matt, Alex, Lexi, and Bailey. Everyone slept. We switched cars a few more times and I don't remember much except that my last car I was in Chris Jones car with Chris G and Renee. That was so much fun. Me and Renee laughed foreverat everything and we all jammed to MCR. It was pretty cool. We got the the white water rafting place and we went white water rafting. In my raft was Barb, Charlie, Jen A., Debbie, Gap, Renee, Ryan, and Chris G. We went though rapids and got to get out and swim for 2 of them. We also jumped off a cliff into the river which was awesome! It was so much fun and very pretty. I have a picture disk with all the pictures so ask me if you want to see them. :] We stayed at the place and slept in tents.
Sunday-We went to church at a little church. It was nice. As we were driving to our destination Jenny S saw a waterfall and made Barb and everyone else pull over. It was beautiful! We got to West Virgnia Tech (were we slept in the dorms) and went to the welcoming meeting. We met our work crews. My crew was #2. Krissy (16, Troy, Michigan) Andrew (16, Erie, Pennslyvania) Clark (16, ??,Indiana) Kevin (15, Wooster, Ohio) Chris (Leader, Flushing, Michigan) My crew was ok, I expected better I guess. They weren't very talkative which forced me to talk more cause I wanted to get to know them and stuff. It was different for me since I'm not usually the one who starts talking in a group so it was new for me. That night it took me awhile to fall asleep. I roomed with Lauren, Lindsey, and Renee.We had some problems trying to get the fan to stop making annoying noises but we had fun.
Monday-Woke up at 6:45 like every morning. That was hard. We drove to our worksite. The resident was very shy and didn't talk much but pretty nice. She had two little boys, Xavior and Cameron, they called me Dairy Queen girl because of my shirt. It was cute. :] The whole week we panited the outside of the house. We came back to the school and our whole youth group went up to sing durning the evening program and we did that every night. It was so cool trying to get everyone to dance and sing. We had youth group devotions every night and every one of them was wonderful. I listened and got something out of every single one of them it was amazing.
Tuesday- Same thing pretty much. Except after devotions we were walking back to the dorms and there was a guy playing the acoustic guitar singing Fall Out Boy. So I stopped with a few other people and listened to him for the rest of the night. He was really good. :]
Wednesday-This day was our half day. We left out worksite at 12ish. And out youth group went back to the white water rafting place to do a high ropes course and zip line. It was a gallon of fun! We got back to the dorms around 7 and we did our Variety Show dance which went very well. We had a lot of fun and everyone loved us so that was good.
Thursday- The evening program was amazing! I got so much closer to God and understood so much more. I can't even explain how amazing it was. I cried for a good 15 20 minutes. I went for a little walk to stop myself and just think. On my way back I saw Chris crying so I went over there to listen to him. Me, Chris, Autumn, Ryan, and Renee were all sitting on the side walk listening to each other and helping Chris out. It was so amazing to hear how inspirational Ryan and Autumn were. After we all stopped crying we had to go to devotions. Wow, that was also so amazing! Almost everyone was in tears. My favorite thing said was this.We were all crying and Barb says-"If Jesus walked down this hall right now would he see the joy?" Joey-"Barb i believe this is the joy. Us all sitting here crying knowing that God is our savior and that we are here for each other" We all hugged each other and then went back by the dorms. Me, Chris, Renee, Charlie, and Laura talked for a little bit. Then we went upstairs and went to sleep.
Friday-My second favorite day next to Thursday.My crew finished painting so we went to another worksite it happened to be the house Bailey and Chris were working on, so I stayed. Me and Bailey washed the awnings while little Joanna sprayed us with the hose and Chris laughed at us. I met little Bailey too. They were cute. After the crews finished everything we all went across the street and jumped in the river. It was so much fun! I didn't really want to go in but Chris just had to throw me in. Everyone was jumping on or pushing other people in.The funniest part was when Chris was at the end of the dock pushing someone in then I went behind him and pushed him in then out of no where I got puched in and when i came up i think brian said to me don't mess with my chris. it was cool. we got back to the dorms around 5. I took a shower then had to go the last evening program where we invite our residents. My crew said our goodbyes and hugged and stuff. It was sorta sad.:[ After we had our last devotions then we all had to finish our care cards. Me, Chris, Charlie, Ryan, and Renee all sat on the side steps talking and singing and finishing care cards up It was really fun.:] At 12 we all went up to bed.
Saturday-We took everything downstairs and loaded the cars and van up. My first car I was in Jay's car with Autumn, Matt, Renee, and Lindsey. It was really fun. I passed out for like an hour. We went to Texas Road House and threw peanuts at each other. :] I had french Fries and Applesauce. My car for the rest of the way home whih was like 5 hours was Debbies car with Chris and Renee. My favorite car ride of them all! I had so much. I love you so much Chris and Renee! We talked and sang it was so much fun. I tried rolling my eyes back we laughed about that for a good 5 minutes. When we started to get closer we were all excited and i started crying cause i was so happy. Chris and Renee laughed at me :[ When we got there we all darted out of the car and Chris's mom had a whole bunch of signs it was so cute. :]
So that was West Virgnina. I love every single person from SJV youth group.Thank you every single one of you for making that trip amazing.I miss it so much. I'm going to be putting pictures up from it so be on a lookout for that. :]
