northern mn trip

this past weekend we took a trip to the north of our beautiful state.
we did a big loop by driving north through the center of the state then headed east to lake superior and then south again to home. it was a 4 day trip and it was marvelous. some highlights:

-charles lindberg's childhood home
-treasure city
-huge furniture outlet
-a tour of an underground mine (the steep elevator drop and train down there was fun)
-bear wildlife refuge
-riding a trolley at iron world
-grand marais on lake superior
-eat a donut at the World's Best Donuts
-sven & ole's pizza
-split rock light house
-a great hotel on lake superior
-a great hike
-a great jacuzzi
-beautiful scenery

it was one of the best trips we've taken and we've been quite a few places.
