Last week our office shut down and went on a staff retreat with staffers from 4 other office sites. There were only a total of about 30-40 of us so it was still cozy and fun. We went to this resort in northern MN and stayed in these awesome cabins.
One night we had a lipsync and performance contest. We were all put into groups of 4 or 5 and each of our groups were given costumes and a band (from the past) and one of their songs to sing. It was so hilarious and fun. A couple of the guys had to dress up as girls and perform. At first we all thought the whole thing was dumb but it ended up being the best thing we did on our 3 days there! Of course we had to get really drunk to perform, but still it was a lot of fun.
Then I rushed home on Friday to get ready to attend a wedding. The ceremony was held at a huge cathedral in our city. It sits on a hill and overlooks the downtown skyline. The inside of the cathedral is beautiful. The ceremony itself was very...religious and lacked any personal flavor. I would have liked to see something that represented the couple but what can you do during an ultra religious catholic ceremony?
The reception was fantastic. They had an open bar the whole night long. This couple and their family own a chain of stores in the Twin Cities area so they are well off. Good food, good music and great friends. We knew everyone at our table and it was a very fun night of dancing and chatting.
School is kicking my butt. This term I've got 2 classes that both require a ton of reading and to be honest, I've slacked in the reading for one of them. I've also got tons of papers to do for both classes as well. It's pretty stressful. The good thing is after this term, I only have 1 more class and then I write my thesis and I'm done!!! Woohoo!@!@!@#(##(&*%* CAN NOT WAIT!
