Indiana does not have a helemt law and I have never been able to figure out why. I haven't rode in years, but when I did I went to too many funerals to question the wisdom of helmets. The greatest danger a motorcyclist faces is from people who change lanes into them, who just don't see them.
Hell of a thing to go to an interview after, eh? I'm glad it went well for you after all!
Thanks- it was tough to get it together, I was really shaken up by it- and I'm not all that squeamish- but it was very . . .real.
IN used to have a helmet law, but then did away with it- it makes NO sense to me. They'll spend millions enforcing seat belts (which are important too)- but won't enforce helmets. Besides a law though- the cycle community should push it more. I know it's "uncool" to wear a helmet, and not feel the wind in your face or hair- but you don't look so cool lying on the pavement waiting for your friends/family to get THAT call. Now, I'm rambling...
