I updated.
Never did get around to posting that one pic from John and I's first date lol. Well, it's in my myspace pictures - so you can look at it there (it's the solo one of him -

Work has been alright. It was busy for a while, and like I thought, slowed down during the holidays. It was quite steady Christmas eve though. Paul threw a little party...but there wasn't a big turnout lol. Just John, Lisette and I. But he had great food! Stewed chicken, rice and ox tails. We all decided to crash Rafaela's party instead lol.
Christmas this year was like the rest - just a quiet do and home. Got some great pressies.
- "Socks to stay home In" from JC Penny. Purple, fuzzy..love 'em!
- Gold clutch wallet
- Heavenly perfume & lotion from Victoria's Secret
- THREE pairs of shoes from my guy!! xxx
- Some underwears...lol
- Chocolates
- Black tank top from Lisette
I'm blanking on anything else...so I'll move on lol Dinner was fab, as always, drank wine, ate, talked yadda yadda.
It was pretty slow around work for New Years Eve...worse than Xmas Eve.
I spent New Years with John at what we like to call "The Rat Shack." It's the place he's currently staying out in Groveland. Quaint little town - his place is a room attatched to a house that these two ladies rent out. It's tiny, with a bathroom...but it suits him. We painted the place together a while back. Three of the walls are black, and the other wall and ceiling are red.
It was a lovely night. John doesn't celebrate Xmas, he has specific days during the year that he celebrates, so I gave him gifts for those days on New Years. I got him a shirt, and made a pic of him - and he wanted pics of me from a photo booth, so he got those too. At midnight, he opened a bottle of champagne, and we made calls to our friends to wish them happy new year. I spent the night, which was very nice. Just being able to spend some alone time together.
We've both been really great though. John may only be my first boyfriend, but for a first, he's amazing. He has such a big heart, and makes me soo incredibly happy. My mother and sister don't really get it all the time, why I'm always seeing him and such....but I love spending time with him. Mum once said that "You'll get over this phase - seeing him all the time" but honestly, it's not a phase, and no, I wont lol. He thinks the same way!
I think also what my family don't always get is that most of the time, I'm actually not 'out' with him. I work with him, so yeah, I'll physically see him...but it's not the same as going out. We haven't properly been out for a while** lol. I know that my sister missed me a lot though. And I know she's not really mad at John, but it seemed like she'd turn her anger onto him, like he's the one keeping me from home. And I know that if she were in my shoes, and it was her boyfriend we were talking about - she'd be out with him too.
So, there's been some debates and arguments about our relationship, but in a few months, I hope it'll all be sorted.
** Our last proper date was enjoyable too. We went to eat sushi at "Seito's" in Winter Park Villiage. It was delicious!! I've always wanted to try real sushi, and I'm glad I did. A lot of people automatically think just because it's sushi, it must be raw, when in actuality, only two of the things we ordered were raw. We didn't ask for the other stuff to be cooked, it just came that way. Then we went out by Lake Eola and walked around, then took a bike carriage ride around Church Street, went back to his place and hung out.
I think dad's onto us now though. He keeps grilling my sisters about "who's that guy that keeps dropping off and picking Jodie up?"..but he doesn't seem to want to actually ask ME. I'm the one dating him for christsakes. I need to just sit down with him and talk to him. I want to do it soon though. Sooner, the better I think. I'm not scared about how he'll react, or scared about telling him...I know dad will most likely freak a tad when he hears he's thirteen years older than me...and he'll probably hate how he looks (John's got tons of tattoos and some piercings), but I have a feeling that once they meet and talk face to face, it'll be okay.
-- On a sad note though, my sisters and I hung out with John a few nights ago...and on the ride home, John even said "Your sister doesn't like me." Which yeah, I'll admit...I sorta did get that feeling. I hope it's not true, and that she was just shy or something. But John is also a very good judge of character...so I don't know what to think.
LET GO, LET FLOW is what I always say! Just gotta roll with the punches!
In other news...
We had a secret santa at work a while back before Christmas, and coincidently, John had my name. His gift to me was to take me to get my nose pierced. Something I've wanted done for a long time. We went about three weeks ago to The Core Ltd., a piercing shop at Festival Bay Mall. Cute girl called Selena pierced for me. John sat there the whole time holding my hand. It wasn't too bad...the clamp was uncomfortable, because they have to pull your nostril outwards and upwards to see what they're doing. Then the huge long needle goes in, then they have to thread the stud in (sorta has a screw shape) which is the worst part. That hurt. Just as Selena said "I hope you're not a bleeder..", oh, there goes my nose. I probably looked a mess LOL I had iodine around my nose, blood running down my face, and tears on my face. - A common reaction actually. You tear up on the side you're pierced. (No, I wasn't crying). It was pink and purty!! Although, early yesterday morning, I caught it with my nail, tried to put it back in, but it popped out. Long story short - after trying to put it back in, it ended up falling down my sink drain. I was very upset (I get very attatched and sentimental about jewelery that people give me. I had this one ID bracelet since I was nine...lost it last year at cosmetology shcool...I felt sick). But mum took me back down to the place and I bought two new ones (buy one get one 50% off!) and the girl showed me how to put it in. There's a technique apparently. LOL. Got another pink one, which I'm wearing now, and a clear. They're bigger too, which are nice because now it's more noticeable. When we went to get it pierced, John noticed a Hustler belt buckle that he like, so I picked that up for him today. He was surprised. Glad he liked it.
Once again, my hair is different! It's sorta back to that 'bacon' stage like how I had it at Cosmetology shcool lol. John did it the other day. He put a level three (dark) over the red, which pretty much took me back to my natural, then he put highlights in and toned them with a mixture of level nines (blonde). I will take pics and show them off on myspace lol. I really like it though. Change is awesome.
Alrighty, rambled on enough about everything!
Over and Out.
