“I swear,” says Ryan, cheeks rosy red from the cold, with gobs of snow clinging to his mittens, “I swear, Troy, I won’t do it.”
Troy eyes the snowball in the other boy’s hand suspiciously. “I mean it, I’m taking Gabriella out tonight so I really don’t have time to go home and change.”
“Absolutely,” Ryan assures, eyes wide and innocent. “I wouldn’t, Troy. You know me.”
“Yeah, okay.” Grudgingly Troy turns, takes three steps before something cold and solid hits him square in the back. “Ryan!”
Ryan giggles as he dashes away. Nobody can be good all the time.
