Well.. cool things have happened. On friday my bosses surprised me with a cake they had baked themselves for me. They brought it out with a candle and everything and even sang. It was awesome. I've never had anybody at any other job ever do anything like that for me before. Then when I got out, Matt handed me the mail and I had a thing from my mom and my dad. My dad had sent me an olive garden gift card and my mom sent me a target giftcard. Happy happy. That night we went and ate at Olive Garden and had a generally good time.
This morning we woke up and drove over to target and bought me some cute earrings. Then we got all pretty and left for rocky mount where we joined his parents and drove over to Amanda and John's wedding. It was a nice wedding but unfortunately we had to sit in the balcony and our view was mostly blocked by a chandelier. Then for the reception Matt's dad didn't want to stay long so we didn't. I was hoping to stay longer but since we had driven in the same car we couldn't. The time we were there was nice though. Many love and well wishes out to the newly weds!
After that we went back to Matt's parent's house and had a birthday party for me, matt's grandpa, and matt's brother since our birthdays are all close together. We ate cake and I got a bunch of cards and birthday money.
Now here comes to best part of all...
Tomorrow Matt is taking me on a romantic birthday weekend gettaway!! I'm so excited. We can't go far because we only have two days, but it'll be great anyway. We're going to drive over to Charlotte tomorrow morning and go play around the city and then eat dinner at either a japanese steak house thingy or the cheesecake factory (I can't decide!). Then we'll hit up our hotel and relax the rest of the night. The next morning we'll get up early and hit Carowinds, a theme park. We'll ride all the rollercoasters and have a general blast. I'm very excited. He did all this cute work planning it out. He made me a fake travel brochure thingy and played it out like I had won a trip (via an e-mail message) and let me choose between three entirely different trips he planned out, each with their own activities and dining places. I chose charlotte. So that's what I'M doing this weekend. Everyone else have a great one too!
