I feel INFINITELY better today. No more of the deep depression I had yesterday.
By the way, I went up to Hastings today around 5:00, and I walked up to a guy and asked him for an app. He gave me the whole schpeel: get it from this girl, come back @ six for the video, blah. I got to Hastings again at 6:00 exactly, and I walked past him, he said, "Hey did you get the page?" Me, "What page?" Him, "Oh, they're starting the video, you'd better hurry, it's right back there." Stupid video talking about the uniform and how the guests are the most important thing...nothing informative, really. After I'd handed my application to the guy taking them, I set out to find the guy I'd run into a couple of times. I ran into him, and I said, "Hey, what do you think the best thing I can do to get hired is? Should I just call in a couple of weeks, or what?" He turned, and I saw his nametag, and lo and behold, who is it but Will, the guy Sylvia told me to talk to, the store manager. I giggled a little, and I said, "Oh, you're Will. Sylvia told me I should talk to you." He said, "Sorry...I just kind of like to see people's reactions when they ask me something like that....What's your name?" Me, "Annie Latham." Will said, "Latham. Alright."
Looks can be very deceiving. I just figured he was some random employee. He's no older than 26, there's no way. Anyway....BLT's and Milkshakes now.
