districts didnt go too bad, sort of.
individually districts were really disappointing.
i got sick 2 days before prelims, AWESOME!!! my 100 fly should have been 58 or under, and it was 1.00.01, so close, so close. i put in crazy fly work at fleet and hs, and felt really cheated by that bad race, i didnt even final. boo hoo. 500 didnt go too well either, especially considering the crazy work we put in at junior group. the day before i got sick we did 6x100m on 1.40 but hitting goal pace (1.10m=1.03y), and i hit all 6 at 1.10, which paces out to be about 15 seconds faster than a 5 thirtysomething, even with being tired factored in, i feel like i should have swam about 15 seconds faster, the training i put in over the holidays also point to better results.
relays went really well, sort of.
the medley relay at prelims went pretty good, i went a 26.3, and i need to go a 25.0 to hold up my leg of a 1.39. we went into finals seeded 7th?. we almost missed the 200 f.r., so the order was kinda messed up, but we finaled seeded 8th.
finals
the medley relay went really well, we made up to seeds, dropped about 3 seconds between prelims and finals, went a 1.42 which is a good enough time to get us to regionals. eric split a 26.mid, drew split a 28, i split a 25.0, and kyle split a 22 mid?.
in order to break the school record of 1.39, eric needs to go a 25.5, drew needs to go a 27.5, i need to go a 24.5 and kyle needs to go a 21.5, and one of us needs to go a little lower. ambitious, but its a school record nobody (except maybe us in a few years) will break for a while, the old one was set in 91. eric can go the 25.5 if he pushed it hard enough, drew went a 1.02 100 breast, so we think he can go it, i can drop a little time in the fly, i have a full let fsII(sweet!!!) and i breathed in the flags at finals, and kyle went a 22.0 on the f.r..
the 200 f.r. was almost there. we were on time, and eric led it out in a 23.6, a weak split considering he was rested, shaved (head, arms, legs) in a fsII leg, mark hit a 23.6, and i went a 23.9 (best 50 time by about a second) and kyle went a 22.0, his best time by about half a second. but we got dq'd. as i was comin in, kyle realized he couldnt legally make up the gap, so he thought (and i agree) the only shot we had was for him to jump early and hope the officials didnt see. they did, and we got deked, but we would have gotten 7th anyway, so it doesnt really matter. the relay did prove to kyle though that he can go fast, kyle wasnt rested, or shaved at all in a speedo at finals, hell be tapered shaved in an fsii at regionals, so we can expect a legal 22.0
