so i havent truly updated in like, a month, and some serious funk has gone on since then. What funk you ask?
summer league came and went, and ended pretty well. i finally broke 25 in the 50 free (well, depends who you ask, timer clocked me at 24.98, pad got me at 25.05), and went 55.5 in the 100, and like, 27 something in 50 fly, and got 5th at ponderosa. ended pretty well, except for some b.s. with the bogus meet officials and joey (who got screwed, hard). im psyched about our super-relay next year- me, ethan, chris, drew, or if joey comes, me joey drew chris. but summer league was fun overall, missed most of the tension between coaches, swimmers, parents, board members, and my mom luckily. at divisionals, i met tasha, freshman to be on our team, cute, nice, never really talked to before, and we hit it off pretty quickly. had my arm around her in the car to cicis, got her number, thought i was home free, but she didnt like me, although she knew i liked her. got stephanie's number at ponderosa. stephanie, also freshman, plays volleyball, and i guess i have a thing for volleyball girls. the sheet of paper w/ her number on it got a little drop of water on teh area code, and i havent gotten around to calling her, but i dont really think she wanted me to.
i went to Estes Park, CO (extremely beautiful)for the national triathlon camp and that was fun, and beneficial. i met benny, dude, from seattle, WA who was totally cool and the only non-ass in my training group that could keep up. we were dropping people on the downhills every day, totally awesome dude. had a serious amount of fun geekin it up on bikes with someone who isnt my dad. also met some really cool kids from illinois, as well as some very cool counselors, mike redman- my roommate who was super cool, and mike bland, who was cool and funny, and put on the regional camp. beautiful running and riding. it was hilly, cold, high altitude, dry, and hilly, so riding was tough. i had a lot of fun, i wish the camp was longer, and it will be next year. didnt really meet any ladies in CO.
the next week i went to aTm swim camp which was very different in that i went alone, not even mallory accompanied me, so i had to meet people through my very quiet roommate, which was tough. not as many hotties as i remembered, and i haven't taken back as much as i have before, but it was still good, and the friends of my roommate were pretty cool, we played some poker and stayed up entirely too late, which was really fun. i ate a lot of freebirds and double daves, both incredible. didnt meet any ladies at aTm.
i got home from regional triathlon camp yesterday or the day before, i dont remember, but that was extremely fun. it was at the u of h dorms and there were only 5 of us, one of the girls didnt stay nights there. 2 guys, 3 girls- me and scott (my 2nd cousin), and jeanette whacker shannon shea and claire andrews.
jeanette is the daughter of roger and anne whacker, a super fast triathlete couple, friends of my dad, so i had met jeanette before. shes gonna be a freshman, and you could kinda tell, but she was cool for the most part. she was strong running and in the pool, but kinda weak on the bike, and she complained a lot about stuff. she was also kind of slow to pick up on the constant barrage of sarcastic comments coming from the counselors, me and scott.
claire is a cute little 11 year old who trained with us and got 2nd in her age at ironkids last year, a pretty big achievement for her age, and shes gonna start doing sprint distances. she was pretty cool.
shannon shea swam atex way back in the day, and my dad recognized her dad and introduced us at a race one time, and i gave her my sn and she never imd me, so the next time i saw her at another race, she and i talked for a while, but i forgot to get her number. so when i saw her at camp, we were the same age, already knew each other, and she has a very outgoing bubbly personality (my favorite!) so i was pretty psyched up. i also found out she didnt have a boyfriend. plus she sounds EXACTLY like rachel bilson (summer) from the oc. we went to the movies, she balled up during a scary preview, i put my arm around her to comfort her, preview ended, arm lingered behind her. this escaladed to full arm holding, then holding hands. i was in, or so it would seem. the next day when we were working out, i saw she was wearing an orange livestrong band, asked what it was, and she said 'my BOYFRIEND was wearing it, and it looked gay, so i took it off him'. what? your boyfriend? so we ended up just kind of talking, no more cuddling (sp?), she found out ive never exactly had a real girlfriend, which turned into some pitiful and embarassing conversations. we were talking at chipotle and we ended up basically saying we would date each other if we went to the same school, right after a 30 min. talk about her relationship w/ her boyfriend. weirdest friendship (i guess) ever.
uh, now im back home, went to the mall yesterday, bought a 'punkcore records' (the casualties, the virus, lower class brats, the unseen, etc.), a misfits poster, and my first record, Get Me Off by Basement Jaxx. totally dirty, horny dance song. theres also a remix of that 'do your thing' song. pretty good. ran once, rode twice yesterday. ran long this morning, which felt good. ive started checking music blogs again, which reminds me of why i stopped, because it takes quite a bit of time. another girl i recently met/kinda liked just got a boyfriend. yay.
im gonna finish checking blogs and watch some anime greg gave me. sweet.
oh yeah, and im starting a cy fair triathlon club. join you lazy couch potatos.
