It's Tuesday morning and raining plenty, but I don't really mind, because the weather has been nice of late and I'm from the Pacific Northwest, where it does this for nine months out of the year. Nine months - like some kind of shitty weather gestation period - after which the region gives birth to several months of sunshine. Makes life worth

Actually, I almost went off on all of the annoying amputees here in Tijuana who peddle stuff (or just simply hold out a cup with a whole limb) in my response in there, but I figured that would only make it worse ;)

It's harsh, isn't it? Sometimes something inspires good writing, but it isn't so nice.

Not that I think you have to be an asshole to be a good writer. Not at all. But sometimes giving folks a jolt can be a good thing, no?

I think that good writers have the obligation to write unafraid of being considered an asshole. I can't imagine Nabokov writing Lolita while worried that people are going to think he's a child molester.
