Here I am again with more photos. There are some photos from the parade for the Pan Pacific Festival that went through Waikiki on Sunday; also some photos from a little rocky bit of beach I went to with my cousin Chris; other photos from a nice lookout at Nu'uanu Pali; a statue of a king, the name of whom can't help but make me think of Dragonball Z; and some other photos from a hike (more of gently upward sloping walk along a paved path) up Makapu'u point, where I again had the chance to take some nice panorama photos.
Pan Pacific Festival
First up a photo of some lion dancers from the Pan Pacific Festival parade. The focus unfortunately wasn't on the lion and focused on the people behind, but I still liked the photo, and I didn't get another chance for a close-up:
There were many groups involved in the parade. Many local ones from different communities and clubs and so on. Also several visitors from Japan.
This next one looked kinda cooler in motion.
Here's a random dog nearby that I thought looked cute. Sadly blurred photo:
And a nice almost-sunset photo to cap that evening off:
Other photos
This was at Cromwell's beach. This area we walked over to over some rocks is mainly for just jumping in and kinda hanging around, I guess, and less for swimming. Yeah, doesn't sound very safe, but at least the pool was deep, and the wall is straight.
Nu'uani Pali. Was a fantastic view! So high up, with a reasonably strong breeze. Here's a wide, wide photo of what you can see from up there, followed by a picture taken on the drive out.
Next up, is a statue of the man who united the Hawaiian islands, King Kamehameha I. (When I was at this statue, another tourist was taking a photo in front of the statue while doing the 'throwing-a-fireball' pose. :P)
And here we are walking up the path to the lighthouse on Makapu'u Point:
And here are a few photos along various points of the walk:
Here's "Rabbit island":
And a sun-behind-clouds pic:
Apologies, I haven't actually organised my photos into separate sets or collections or even tagged them. All current photos are still in
this flickr set, ordered by date (oldest to most recent).
