Reading meme
OK this is my first meme ever since I never really use lj anyway...Generally I am not good at keeping up with forums,twitter,facebook,lj or stuff like that mainly because I lose interest very quickly.I know it's bad but usually my real life is too busy to let me keep up with my online one..ugh..so little time so many things to do right? Anyway enough with the rambling..
1) What author do you own the most books by?
Hmm..that's a tie between Jane Austen and J.K Rowling
2) What book do you own the most copies of?
Definitely Pride and Prejudice..I LOVE that book to the point of having it in 2 versions soon to be 3...one in greek,one in english and the third one i oderered also included commentary by an author specializing in Austen books.Can't wait til it gets here!
3) What fictional character are you secretly in love with?
Draco Malfoy (but mostly the fandom version of him...the Draco trilogy anyone? or the code series? *drools*),Mr.Darcy(THE best romantic hero/male lead in fiction ever) and Chuck Bass.No explanation needed.
4) What book have you read more than any other?
Pride and Prejudice,Emma and the Harry Potter books.
5) What was your favorite book when you were 10-years-old?
Duh do you have to ask? Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban and a greek one whose tittle I can't translate without making it sound stupid.
6) What is the worst book you've read in the past year?
Twilight.EW.Don't kill me twilight fans but JUST NO.No plot,spineless and boring female lead and Eddie is too perfect for me so..yeah.I stopped after chapter 5 because my only thought while reading it was how bad I wanted to slap Bella.So I decided to spare myself the migraine and went to read The world of wisdom instead.
7) What is the best book you've read in the past year?
That's hard..hmm..but I guess since in the past year I've mostly read books about psychology and not many real novels ..i'd say the best book I've read for the first time is The host(I know,it even surprised me) and if book re-reads count then DEFINITELY Pride and Prejudice.Yes I am obsessed.And no I don't mind.
8) If you could tell everyone you know to read one book, what would it be?
Again it's a Greek book so no translation here either.Sorry.
9) What is the most difficult book you've ever read?
Crime and Punishment.Oh dear me.I tried to read it when I was 13 and I soon realized it was a stupid thing to do.I couldn't comprehend even the half of the meanings on the book so I left it aside until I would be able to understand it.Books like that need respect.Anyway I read it this summer as well as Tolstoy's War and Peace.Those 2 are the hardest books I've ever read.By far.But more than worth it too.
10) Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
Uhm...Russians probably.Even if they write the hardest books to read ever.
11) Shakespeare, Milton or Chaucer?
*feels stupid* I don't know Chaucer.From Milton and Shakespeare,I'd say the second only it depends of the play.Because if we're talking about Romeo and Juliet then please.kill.me.now.
12) Austen or Eliot?
Why is this even a question? AUSTEN ALL THE WAY.
13) What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
Not reading the Portrait of Dorian Grey.Hopefully i will come round to it soon.
14) What is your favorite novel?
Again Pride and Prejudice.It's just...it's one of the first books of English literature I've ever read and it's because of how much I liked it that I continued reading.So yeah...it holds a special place <3
15) Play?
I don't like reading plays.I prefer watching them.But I guess I did enjoy Much Ado About Nothing.On the other hand I wanted to shoot myself while reading Romeo and Juliet.Go figure.
16) Poem?
Okay..embarrassing admission time.I do not enjoy poetry that much.But I really do love any poem written by Pablo Neruda.Another one I really love is Fire and Ice by Robert Frost.
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
