was just offered a job back in montgomery in my old shop starting at a GS9 position starting Oct 1, and promised a GS11 position 6 months later so long as I'm not a fuck-up. also, my time in the military counts towards my pay increase for service time, step 6 I believe. but until I actually decide if I want the job, I wont worry about the pay. its a freaking gov job, full benefits, and I already have 6 years towards retirement and starting at GS9.
the hard choice is deciding which way I want to take my economic life. if I take this job, I'm in the gov system and go take as much time away as I want. but I would need to put a halt on the travel plans and chainmail/booze for a couple more years. I would also have a bit more time in my life for chainmail making, since montgomery sucks, and I start out with 6 hrs a month vacation, which is basically 4x the vacation I get now, almost as much as I had while I was in, but I dont have to take vacation to cover weekends and holidays
I need to decide what I want to do, but I dont need to decide until around september, which means I can likely put all my paperwork in for the job and see what D*Con does for money, assuming I get the table
