So as far as I can see there are two ways of picking up a girl:
1) The American Way: You ask them out on a date.
2) The Irish Way: You meet them in Pub/Nighclub, snog, get number and if you remember the next day you give them a call/txt.
On the outside of it the American way seems much more civilised. But looking back I realise its never actually been successful for me (or at least not as much as the Irish Way).
I asked my Hot Landlady out on a date; just cut me down with a look that said never ask me again.
I asked a girl in work; told me she was practically married; despite flirting with me the whole time (I guess flirting is fun for some and a means to an ends for others)
I asked a girl in my Gaming Society; she laughs in my face.
I asked a girl in my Hockey Club; she tells me no she is seeing someone, though I was fairly certain she was single (I learnt to ask in advance ever since the Work Incident; perhaps it was an easy let down).
But since I'm getting too old for the Irish Way these days. I guess I shall just have to persevere.
