Warped Tour

Jul 17, 2010 21:11

Sooo Thursday was Warped Tour! We got up early and left around 8:45am. I thought I was going to puke like I do sometimes before Warped but I didn't! Hahahaha. We got there and had to go in the back way like we did last year. While we were waiting in line, a worked walked next to us and stopped while talking on a walkie talkie. I turned and looked and it was KEVIN LYMAN the founder of Warped Tour. Well, he disappeared after a little while and a bunch of bands tried getting us to check out their music and buy their CDs. We bought a few haha. The lined moved slowly and Kevin showed up again for a few minutes before disappearing again. We had presale tickets which were supposed to let us cut the line so we asked someone and they directed us to security guys. They showed us to a much smaller line that was in front of the huge line we were in! We ended up being some of the first people in the gates! We then rushed as fast as we could to the blow up schedule, taking note of all the booths we passed. The first band that played on the main stage that we wanted to see was Motion City Soundtrack so we did haha. Malynda and I finally got the nerve to go in the air conditioned, free Monster area. It was sweet, but you couldn't take the Monsters out of the fence. After that, we went to the Altec Stage to see Attack Attack. We crabcorred. Hahaha. Then we headed back to the Main Stage to catch Bring Me the Horizon. I don't really like them but my favorite photographer, Adam Elmakias, is touring with them so I wanted to catch a glimpse of him. I did right when I got to the stage, he was just walking around to the back of the stage to photograph. I stayed for their whole set in hopes of finding him after but I didn't get to. I did, however, take a bunch of pictures of him photographing the band. Kinda creepy, I know haha. One of the first things I bought when I got there was one of his 50mm bracelets. Then I rushed to see Alesana on the Glamour Kills Stage. On the way there, this one guy from a local band that wasn't playing but hanging at a tent stopped me because he knows me and we talked for a few minutes. :) Well, Alesana played some songs I knew then we headed to We The Kings on Main Stage. Then, while heading back to the AP/Advent Stage, next to Glamour Kills, we watched Of Mice and Men for a minute. During the Casualties, we relaxed while they did walls of death and such. We just stayed there for two other bands while we waited for VersaEmerge to perform. The other bands were The Summer Set and Polar Bear Club, they were both pretty good. While VersaEmerge played, Malynda got a text saying Tyson Ritter of the All America Rejects would be signing then so we ran down to the way of their tent. Before we got there, we noticed Sean Milke of Alesana was doing a signing so we stopped and got pictures and autographs. We waited then in line at the AAR tent when Tyson came over with a bullhorn and talked to us about helping Haiti and that you can get autographs, pictures, and a stencil spray painted on you if you donate, so we did and got all the goods hahaha. Alkaline Trio played while we were waiting and they were on my list of bands to see so it was convenient. We then made our way back to the AP/Advent Stage to see the Pretty Reckless. The lead singer is 16 and looks like shes 25. She's in Gossip Girl, was Cindy Lou Who in the Grinch movie, and the president's daughter in Spy Kids. After they played, we relaxed some more when Sum 41 came on stage. We got some pictures, reapplied sunblock, and headed to see Hey Monday in our spare time. We then wandered around because we didn't know what else to do. Which we did, we found a booth giving out free jeans and Andrew WK holding a contest in his tent. After that was Breathe Carolina on the Altec Stage. I was so sore so I sat down for most of their set. Then we went over by the Main Stage and relaxed while Every Time I Die played. When Andrew WK went on, we got some pictures then went to the Kevin Says Stage to see Motionless in White. They're a local band that got big, I've seen them sooo many times. Their keyboardist was a student of my mother's in fifth grade. :) We tried getting all of their signatures again but the only one we missed was the drummer. Ah well. The last band of the night was the All American Rejects. That's who our friends that came with us wanted to see the most so we stayed the whole time. When they were done, we left via tour bus lane haha and got onto the shuttle buses down to the stadium to be picked up. Someone dumb planned a baseball game for the same night lol. Anyway, I had sooo much fun, I just wish I could've talked to Adam. I saw a lot of my friends also. And even though I kept putting on sunscreen, I burned like crazy! It's blistering and nasty! But oh well, I had a great time as usual. :)
