Going solo

So today I was listening to the Interpol lead singer's solo project as Julian Plenti, and I really hate it. I know it's not cool to like Interpol anymore, but I still do, and I guess I always went for the bass player anyhow ( Read more... )

travis morrison from dismemberment plan

ben folds' solo work is up and down, but I think as a whole a ben folds five fan can find something to enjoy

the elected only has half of rilo kiley (really only blake sennett matters)

jenny lewis has great solo work also from rilo kiley

emily haines of metric

ben gibbard/dntel as the postal service (not exactly a solo effort, but fits your principle)

and I think that julian plenti song is okay, but not really great.

see i don't like any of those, except for the postal service, which i don't think fits the principle.

I was going to say Jenny Lewis's Acid Tongue. Though I haven't really gotten into Rilo Kiley, so I guess it doesn't really count.

I also really liked Dave Matthew's solo album Some Devil, but he was working with really talented people so also doesn't really count.

I love the Black Keys, and I also really like Dan Auerbach's solo album. I've only heard it once, but I can see myself liking it more than his Black Keys stuff. So there, that counts.
