Here I am again, taking yet another break from homework. :) I do that a lot... it's amazing that I ever get anything done. It has yet to sink in that exams are NEXT WEEK!!! God help me... I'm scared. Not so much about the exams, but about the attitude I have toward them. I keep thinking, "Oh, exams are so far away!" And here they are, 5 days and counting. I really should give myself a good, invigorating mental shake, but I'm just stuck in this total slacker mode. Not good, my friends, not good.
I love my new school. I do, truly. I love the atmosphere, and the teachers, and the schedule. The only thing that intimidates me is the students. Especially my class, the juniors. There are 35 of us, including me. I swear, I have never been in such a concentrated amount of intelligence and competitiveness in my life. It's amazing.. and not a little bit frightening. Here's an example of the intelligence level: All high school juniors are supposed to take the PSAT. The National Merit people look at your scores, and that's how you get scholarships from them. Of course, it's next to impossible to get any money from them b/c you have to be in the top .5% to even be considered. Well, get this. Out of 35 juniors, 4!, 4! are in the TOP .5 % in the NATION!!!! God!!!! And everyone else is up there too... *sigh* oh well. I suppose its my destiny to go to AB Tech while they head off on full scholarships to Harvard and Yale. Not that I even WANT to go to Harvard... but having the possibility would be nice. *grin*
*funny things from today:*
{Hey, do you like Elliot?}
- {Oooooh, myyyyyy, goooodddd... NOOOO!}
(Emily, you dork! *grin*)
{You've got to be able to reason to live...}
- {Vegetables are alive... and I'm pretty sure they can't reason.} ( :) Yes! I'm so clever.)
{Oh shuddup.}
{Chris is an idgit}
-{Yeah. And you like him.}
{No way. Nu-unh.}
- {But I thought you guys were---}
{Hel-loo. There's been a new development in that situation.}
{Good one!} (nuff said)
