Some asshole in Iowa got my credit card number and used it to buy gas and $100 worth of food at Applebee's yesterday. First, I'm offended that the fraud is happening, but second, I'm offended that my money couldn't be used on cooler things. Seriously, if I was going to go to all that trouble to do something I could get arrested for, I would totally make it good.

How did they charge Applebee's on your card without the actual card? Were they like, "Here waiter dude, I forgot my card at home, but use this number here that I wrote on a napkin."

It probably isn't too hard to get a machine that codes magnetic data on a card. They're pretty easy to use too at least from my experience. They could just take an existing card and recode it with her information or print an entirely new card that looks well enough like a legit one.

Sarah, I have discovered the culprit. And all he had to do was pull it out of your purse when you were using the bathroom last time you visited.

Man if he wanted Applebee's, he coulda asked. (Clearly the gas was just to pay to get to Iowa, so that we wouldn't suspect him).
