Argh...
I just read what Zidane said about the violence that occurred between him and Materazzi and it made me angry.
Yes you were provoked...but by words. No words should warrent violence. Not to say it doesn't happen, but to try and soften what really happened is stupid.
Also, Chirac and the French people still forgive so quickly what happened. The Italian wasn't right and should be punished, but I think that Zidane should not be so easily forgiven by the people. Every kid watching that see's that : It is ok to lash out, as long as you apologize after. Everyone will agree with you as long as you are good at the sport.
Just think how vinidicated he would have been if he had been able to control his emotions and speak about it after WITHOUT taking care of it physically right then.
All that says is that certain people are ENTITLED to be able to act in a privileged manner. And that should not be the case at all.
Ridiculous.
And this week has been pretty horrible in the news. Bombings in Mumbai-Bombay (but at least the people haven't lashed out over it at each other), the ever-tense Isreaeli-Hezbollah situation, the stupidity I have been reading about obesity (stop eating so much and worry less about how many stores there are that serve fast-food...control, people), and the building that exploded in New York.
Thank goodness for comedy tonight.
That is my two cents.
I might delete this later, if I deem it too angry. haha
