aliquid et quidque (does that make sense?)

anything and everything

Starting with the icon. First, I just really like the icon, and I haven't had much reason to use it lately (I'm NOT complaining!). But I got to thinking about the stuff with Silvi, and figured it applied a little bit. I talked to her on Saturday and suggested getting together and talking. She said she didn't know anything we needed to talk about, but sure, why not? I told her to call me when she was free (before Thursday) and we'd get together. Well, she hasn't called (but who's surprised?). Anyway, at this point, I honestly give up. If she's not going to see that I've got something to say, then so be it. And besides, we haven't seen enough of each other lately to make it worthwhile. I'd just be accusing her of things that happened forever ago. It would only be a reasonable conversation to have in the moment, and I think that I've procrastinated with this thing too long for it to really be "in the moment" anymore. I suppose the mission trip this year will be different anyway. Maybe I'll hang with Gia and Diana more. Hopefully that'll work well enough. Oh, and mea soror is not coming this year. She wasn't really a problem last year, but it'll be nice to have one more year off...

Wow, sorry, didn't mean to go off on a tangent there. But it is all tangentially related, I suppose. (Oy, here we go with more English lessons.....*stops*) Anyway, that just made me think of one other thing. Whilst cleaning my room today (we'll get to that too...) I came across last year's mission trip journal. (Now, you must understand that these journals are not normal journals. They are rather the opposite. You write in everyone else's and don't read yours 'til the end of the week.) I was flipping through last year's, and out of curiosity I looked for Silvi's entry. Know what I found? 2 things: "SET RULES! :)" and "Lyds!! I <3 U! ~Silvi". Was that really the summary of that week of our summer? (No pun intended) *sigh and shrug* Oh well. It's all done now. And, whether you believe me or not, I'm actually not bitter about it. I've started to move on moved on pretty far, I think.

So, cleaning my room: Mom says all the surfaces have to be clear for vacuuming/dusting by tomorrow. Fortunately we have (temporarily... :'( ) evaded the taking-apart-of-the-desk-and-scouring-it aspect to which she so looks forward. Oh well. I can handle that. Now all I've got to do is clear off my nightstand and box up all the school stuff that's sitting in stacks on my floor. That'll start...ah...9:30 or later tonight. It'll be done by that time tomorrow though, or sooner!

I'm apparently babysitting for the annoying neighbor girl (molesta puella vicina) from 9 to 4 tomorrow. ACK!!! Hopefully it will be much better than I'm anticipating, but at any rate, I'll get some good money from it. That, at least, is a happy prospect.

In other news: Our cat has a name! We are calling him Theo. In theory, after Theodore Roosevelt (prompted by a discussion of the name of a former cat, Roo, and Eleanor Roosevelt). Apparently also short for "Theopholis"/"Theofolis"? I don't know. I pointed out that "Theopolis" meant "city of the gods", but I don't know where that all came from. Perhaps because a kid at my sister's school is named Trenoffolis or something like that. (NO idea on the spelling...)

I have also now successfully caught up on seasons 1 and 2 of NUMB3RS! Yey!! Now for season 3 to just come out on DVD! *grin*
--Megan (to a suspect hiding under a car): When you were a kid, were you the worst at hide and go seek *ever*?
--Don: Hey Chuck! You want some help in there [the kitchen]?
*time passes* *Charlie and Don come out of the kitchen*
Charlie: Call me Chuck one more time!
Don: Okay, how 'bout I call you Chucky?
Charlie: I'll call you Donald!
Don: I'll call you nerd!
Charlie: I'll call you--*episode ends*

Alright, enough for now...
