As ENDTRODUCING... began to pick up steam, Mo'Wax insisted on fresh material for singles. At a loss, and separated from my equipment and records by the Atlantic Ocean, I checked into a small studio in London with the 'Stem' master and a handful of movies (well, one movie, anyway). Here is the result, the likes of which I find years later to be a compelling but peculiar oddity in my body of work.
The Gift of Gab, from Blackalicous, turned in his performance before the album had even officially begun. In fact, Midnight is by far the oldest song on the album, although it was the last to be finished. This alternate mix was recorded more or less just for fun, in the late summer of '95.
