Going to jail would suck
Tom called me last night at around 11:30pm, he wanted me to come out and smoke. Normally I would have said “Hell ya” and jumped out of bed, but I’m on a different vibe right now.
It’s not that I don’t like smoking, it’s just that I like it a bit too much. I like it so much that I’d rather stay out late and smoke instead of getting up early and heading to school. That’s where the problem comes in. I can’t afford to fuck up, I’ve got too much shit to do. I’m a better person when I’m productive, I’m not bitchy or grumpy because of my lack of inactivity.
I went to the court houses today for class with my friend Dez. We ended up sitting in on two pretty interesting trials. The first one was a sexual assault, and the second one was a murder one.
The story behind the sexual assault trial was that this dude took advantage of this girl while she was drunk at a party, a witness was on the stand and the defense lawyer for the defendant was badgering her. Sucks to be her, witnesses have a rough gig.
The first degree murder trial was something that's been in the media spotlight but sort of died out (no pun intended). In 2002 there was this boat cruise where two people got shot at, and then another person died the next day. It was a triple homicide in less than 24hours and the city was pretty shook. Anyways, the 4 guys who were behind it were in court today. I don't know what the clowns were thinking, they really deserve to be locked up. They were all pretty casual, giving there lawyers dabs and pounds and smiling. One of friends of one of the victims came up to me and Dez and asked where we were from, we told her and then we heard her story. She grew up with one of the guys and has been at every single court date in search of justice for her murdered friends. She then introduced us to one victim's sister, she was his twin. Sad world.
After I got back from the court house I worked out and then bounced home. I’ve been really good with my workouts this week, 3 days in a row. Girlfriend liked the package, bigup to myself.
