I think a lot about the inequity of wealth in the world, not only because I wish I had more but in terms of what it must feel like to not have to worry about basic expenses of living. I saw part of a show on VH1 while I ate dinner at work last night called "The Fabulous Life of..." where they profile the life of some big star. It happened to be

I intend to be rich.
Yes, you are right. I suppose its just jealousy on my part over my own financial struggles when I see some of the excesses of the very rich. My goals never included the broad one of 'being rich' but I certainly wouldn't mind being rich enough to afford certain things and, as I said, never have to worry about paying for the basic living expenses we all have. I fear my time to attain wealth has passed and now I must content myself with getting by and being satisfied with what I have. I know I have a lot.
I've always found it rather interesting from a sociological stand point that the masses reward the few celebrities with great wealth for contributions of little value (mostly entertainment, which includes sports) when compared to what a good teacher imparts to future generations. I have to agree with you here as well. It seems more and more to me that its who you know, how 'connected' you are that gets you the 'breaks' that most people don't have access to.
Being smart and knowing where to apply your efforts helps a lot but without that boost from some connected insider I think its hard to break into that sphere of the rich and successful no matter what your field is. Maybe there's a waiting list and only the most persistance who will stand on line for unending amounts of time will be the ones let in the door when they finally get to the front of the line?
Or is that just sour grapes?
