REC: Hawaii Five-O, Narnia/Torchwood

Feb 26, 2011 20:59

(I) I'm still having way to many pretty icons.

(II) I've read a couple of Danny/Steve stories now, and they really remind me of early McKay/Sheppard, only a little more aware of what kind of story they are (- or perhaps it's just me, being older and more experienced in the tropes and mechanisms of a story).

(III) REC: Hawaii Five-O

(i) Out of Burning Sand, by bachlava.
Hawaii Five-O | Chin-Ho Kelly/Danny Williams | NC-17 | ~ 3,650 words
Post-ep for 1x12, "Hana 'a'a Makehewa": Chin and Danny face the immediate aftermath of what's happened.
-- > This story managed to surprise me, even though I expected to be. There aren't that many stories in this fandom who deal with the more serious aspects of the show. At least not the way I'm used from other fandoms. This story does it wonderfully. It makes me look at the characters with new eyes.
And this is just the way I like my hurt/comfort, real and just a little too close for comfort.

(ii) Smooth, by
siria.
Hawaii Five-0 | Danny Williams/Steve MacGarrett | NC-17 | ~ 3,800 words
Thanks to the unfortunate intersection of Danny's fist with the face of that smug bastard, Richardson, the fingers of his right hand are a little bit broken.
-- > Oh, this is hot. I didn't know I had a thing for shaving. So, so hot and intense.

(IV) REC: Crossover: Chronicles of Narnia/Torchwood

(i) to go nowhere with you, by be_themoon.
Chronicles of Narnia/Torchwood | Edmund Pevensie/Ianto Jones | PG-13 | ~ 4,200 words
"Minotaur," Edmund corrects automatically. Chronicles of Narnia/Torchwood, Edmund/Ianto, time loops, minotaurs, coffe, and rift archaeology of sorts. PG-13. Minor violence & suggested sex but nothing explicit.
-- > I'm a little confused at how well this works. It does work though. I really love Edmund and Ianto's interaction, how they connect and disconnect. I'd really love to read more of this, but even so this works well on its own.
